The marquis reagent is a brownish orange color straight from the bottle. How noticeable is the color change which takes place when a meth bomb is tested?

Thanks

Rollz

It depends on how much amp content is in the pill. If it is a straight up "meth bomb" it will turn a very noticeable color of orange. If the pill has mixed content (as in MDxx & amp) you will have to look for any swirling of orange, or orange/brown.

Hope this helps! :-)

but is the change obvious

But will the swirling be an obvious change in color, or will the marquis just stay its original color in spots?
The pills I have tested as soon as the reagent hit the powder the specks of powder turned black. Then with in 5 seconds the entire puddle of liquid was black. But if there is amp in a pill will some places stay the original color or will it be a noticeable change to an orange?
Thanks,

Rollz

From what I understand, the reagent will only react and turn the color of the dominant chemical as a whole and not seperate into 2 (or more) different colors.

However, you should take note of the intial color reaction as that may give some indication of what's mixed in with the dominant chemical.

I could be totally off base though.. :|

This is not necessarily true. Marquis, for instance, will turn orange and black for a mixed amp/MDxx pill. I have yet to see a reagent turn 3 different colors, it is usually only two. YMMV.

You're right. :)

So is it safe to assume that the dominant chemical is the last of the two (eg. your orange to black example)?
