Marijuana withdrawl and depression

I think a lot of people in this thread are forgetting that marijuana isn't physically addictive. The feelings you're having about withdrawl aren't going to go away unless you stop thinking about weed. I'm sorry to say, but if you keep thinking about marijuana, you're going to keep wanting it. Go out and ride bike or fly a kite (or find some green).

hey! great job going in a round about way of acting like you're the first person who realized what "Mental addiction" is

that was helpful 8(

Let me tell ya str8 up. I luv to smoke herb. Period. I enjoy all aspects of the process. The ritual of it, sharing, and of course the buzzzzz. Over the years the longest I've ever been able to quit for wuz a couple of days. Recently I had a great job oppt. (cancelled due to operation) that required a clean physical. I tried to cold turkey it and it just wasn't happening. The first nite i relapsed and only made it 1 week total with 0 smoking. Luckily (or unluckily) I was able to resume my smoking duties after that 1 long azz week. All the symptoms listed here I definitly experienced. The hardest thing for me was to get the urge to smoke out of my conscious/subconscious. It seemed thats all I could focus on if I wasn't doing anything. Even if I wuz occupied, and busy doing something my mind would start to wander in that direction. That wuz the worst for me. Because I love to smoke!! Fuck having to take a drug screen for mj. At least for the J O B I had/have. Best of luck to you. Keep busy, and hanging with the crew (those that smoke) aint gonna make it any easier. Keep in mind this is from someone who went 1 week. That's not shit really, so wtf do i really know.
Peace

How long does it take for others to feel depression and or withdrawl? Everyday smokers only . . .

Usually if I try to stop I feel shitty by about 8:30am and am smoking again by 8:45am. I try to cut down a few times a week and this is how it always goes.

Alcohol and caffeine are bad for depressed brain, you should quit them also for a while when you're not smoking.

But then, what do I know about quitting weed, heh.

It's not that you are withdrawing from not smoknig pot. You just haveto fill the whole that quitting left. If you smoke pot every day, it becomes a big part of your identity and routine. You need to fill it with something else, like bike riding, jogging, art, political involvement, SOMETHING. If you don't fill the gap soon, you'll never get over the "withdrawal" because you'll turn back to smoking more pot.

2. Light to Heavy Depression
This one really kick me square in the balls when I quit smoking. I'm left a socially paranoid mess who loves nothing more than to lie on a much-too-comfortable couch, order delivery Cheesesteaks and surf bluelight. I stay in the house way too often, which sucks, because I only get six television channels. Two of which are in different languages and one of which is Public Broadcasting.

Im sorry but if you can eat a Cheesesteak(S) while withdrawing from weed there is NO possible way that you have gone into withdrawl deep enough to have credibility..no offence.

The insomnia is also alot worse then you make it sound.. its more then having trouble falling asleep.. During my worst peroid of weed withdrawl i stayed up for about..36 hours without having even the smallest chance at sleeping and when i did it was for about 5 hours only.. and the dreams - YIKES! Especially when you dream about smoking.. wake up in a cold sweat with a WICKED craving..sucks.

Its no lie, weed is super addictive shit and I kind of hate it because of this. while the withdrawl is mild, it is still there, and still very rough to go through.

Just wait till you start to get nausea so bad you cant stand..but the thought of eating makes you want to vomit even harder..thats weed withdrawl. It is real.

I consider myself very lucky if i dont dream about weed when i dont have any. Lucky because this is rare.

The dreams are a form of withdrawl. When weeded out, you dont dream. Without weed, i/you start to dream and mostly about weed, which will leave you with a WICKED craving when you wake up because its the first thought of your day.
