Making more stupid decisions

Last night, I had 9 x 250ug worth of fentanyl in the form of blotters like lsd. I took one, and then another about 30 mins later, but I just felt really jittery and was nodding really bad. My only previous experience with opiates was with 40mg oxy I took a while ago. I was hearing/seeing things while nodding in and out of consciousness. I slept for a while because I just couldn't stay awake but I woke up feeling really uncomfortable and ache-y.

Was I actually close to OD-ing? I'm assuming I'm fine since I'm awake now, but I feel like shit. These aren't like the patches so I took 500ug, and even less was absorbed since its bioavailability is very low orally. I also took them out before I slept and rinsed my mouth out because I was freaking out about the possibility of not waking up.

Fuck this drug. And fuck my stupid recklessness/morbid curiosity. It was definitely not worth it and I've probably screwed my tolerance for opiates; would've been better off actually taking a lower dose of something like oxy. Or, in fact, just stayed away from opiates! All fentanyl did was make me feel like I was knocked out, no euphoria.

Plus, if you look at my other posts, you can tell that I've been having issues with drugs in general atm. I've flushed the rest of those blotters now and am gonna stick to weed for a couple of weeks, that actually does help me function better.

I was curious about this drug having never tried it before and so did some research. Sounds like you know already that your dose was pretty high, patches are usually about 75ug apparently, which will do you for a day if you are being prescribed it for some sort of chronic pain. But I think they are slower release than the blotters. So 9x250 ug is like 30 times the standard dose (if I have got that typical dose right) and if you took it in a faster acting form I am not surprised it knocked you out. According to one website I looked at it said doses greater than 200 micrograms (in solution and injected) are solely for use in anaesthesia with assisted ventilation. So I guess you were lucky that you did actually wake up! It sounds a bit scary, glad you made it though ok

Glad you're ok friend. Opiates can be dangerous when you go off half cocked but they can also be a godsend when in pain or depressed. I know from experience.

Dude, you should be really thankful that you're still alive!
A normal dose for an opioid naive person would be between 50-150 microgram, so you overdosed quite a bit.
Glad you're alive!

You got lucky! I do not recommend doing that again. Regarding euphoria- many people find that fentynal is not as euphoric as regular pain pills or heroin. There are some user who prefer fentynal so I'm guessing it affects different people differently. I think any other drugs or pharmaceuticals you may be taking will also have an impact on how it affects you.

If you want to lower your tolerance there are a few things you can try. You can stop taking it for a few weeks, but that's going to be unpleasant because of withdrawal. Alternatively, you can dose just enough to stave off withdrawal (maintenance) for a few weeks. It will lower back down. There are a few other options but they are impractical and unnecessarily harsh so I'm not going to mention them. I know 21 to 28 days of abstinence will drop it way down, which is why so many addicts accidentally OD getting out of rehab. If you do try to lower your tolerance, when you go to use again make sure you start small. You can always redose if it's not enough.

Indeed, not only is Fentanyl very strong but it does not provide you any euphoria whatsoever.
It's a good medication merely to be used in hospitals for important surgeries and for a short amount of time.

Besides, getting used to fentanyl can lead you to very tough and harsh withdrawals even if you take methadone.
Stick with weed if you can.
