What with the recent talk about loperamide and its potential recreational use, I decided to give it a try. Although, I wasn't really counting on it to be valuable as a 'good time' drug, but more of somthing to help through withdrawals when and if they happen (I'm usually flirting with withdrawals so an easy remedy would be a godsend). So, yesterday, I took 12 2mg loperamide pills. Little light blue rectangular pills, I think they were generic. A total of 24mg. I didn't really feel anything from these, but it is possible that I didn't give them time enough to kick in because those WD's were starting to creep up and I went ahead and ate my last dose of pods. I did notice though that this morning I wasn't clogged up, even after doing a medium dose of pops on top of 24mg of loperamide.
Today, I decided to up the dose since I didn't have any trouble feeding the commode its morning breakfast. So, I took 15 pills, a total of 30 mg. I'm out of pods for now, so it's either these or nothing. So, on my way to work I start feeling that 'rubber leg' syndrome that comes with a low to medium dose of morphine. You know, that kind of hollow, weak feeling in the legs that I describe to myself as a dark gray color. I know that makes no sense but your mind has a way of visualizing things. As of now, it's been about two hours since I ate the pills, and what I'm feeling is definitely not a placebo, but a full blown, unadulturated opiate buzz. There is no euphoria, but the 'rubber leg' syndrom has increased and is now in my arms. Thats the way it usually progresses for me, it starts in my legs and if I have dosed enough, it will spread to my arms. More of the same, and I eventually achieve good ole euphoria.
My conclusion is that loperamide, in a high enough dose (for me anyway) definitely will induce opiate-like effects. The true test will be whether or not my WD's start up again today. Usually, with a dose that produces this level of intensity, I'm usually good for at least 24 hours before the WD's set in. So, if I'm just starting to feel them creep up tomorrow morning, then this test to me will be a success.
I am wary however of upping the dose too much more than what I have tried. I don't want to get clogged up, but I can only imagine that possibly 60 mg of loperamide might potentially give me a mild euphoria. I will definitely try this again soon if, like I said, the loperamide is successful at keeping my WD's at bay until tomorrow morning.
