hey, ive been using codeine 30/500 two weeks a month now, for 10 months and i drink like a fish, i take around 1250mg apap in a dose but i usually only dose once a day i know the complications that can occur with liver function etc. however i never mix the two, but i do binge on them seperatley i.e. 2 weeks on codeine/apap then the weekends binge drink for the rest of the month, i have been experienceing slight pain in the upper right quadrant under my ribcage for a week now and am curious as to what risk i could be at (just spent two weeks on codeine, then got pissed christmas eve, christmas, new years..) im tremendously worried about my health but am showing no signs of other than some weak uncomfortable pain of liver damage/failure etc. is anyone else familiar with this kind of situation, and can you offer any advice other than see the doctor? (which i am going to do).

The short answer to your question is that both chronic and acute stress on your liver can be problematic. If you binge on something which stresses the liver, your risk of nasty things like pancreatitis and gall bladder problems is elevated for a few days following the binge so it's desirable that you don't further stress your liver during that time.

The guidelines for safe consumption of both APAP and alcohol assume normal liver function, so it's kind of important to know whether your LFTs are normal.

Just do a cold water extraction. You're seriously only doing 75mg of codeine at a time?

If you /are/ doing a CWE then how do you come up with the 1250 number?

~1000mgs of APAP with alcohol isn't going to obliterate your liver, but expect some form of cirrhosis after doing this very long term.

i would try cwe or just find something else to do minus the apap

ive seen bad shit with people who took too much apap and its not good news

so i can imagine any combo of alcohol and apap over time is terrible news
