Let's talk about eggs

Indeed it is. :)

Here is a poor shot of their house up the back of the yard, taken in the rain.

Sounds yummo. Just curious; why hemp seeds?

Idk haha it seemed like a good idea at the time and I kept continuing ever since. Probably because if I eat hemp seeds by themselves I make a huge mess all over by missing my mouth.

I'm gonna be completely honest here when I say Balut looks pretty delicious. =D

Makes sense. I think I'll have to work my way up to being able to eat runny yolk though. I literally just gagged :|

That's weird... I'm the exact opposite.

The only time you'd see me choking down cooked egg yolk is if I had to do it to save my life. Runny yolk, on the other hand, is positively yummy!

You should really take the time to acquaint yourself with runny yolk -- I think that if you do, you'll learn that it's really much more friendly than you once suspected, and all those silly fears will be put to rest! :)

Eggs are good for a few reasons:

1: Cheap
2: Easy to cook
3: Taste good, by themselves or with almost anything.
4: Healthy, full of vitamins and minerals and acids.
5: High protein.

I eat lots of eggs. They are yum.

I've been really getting into poached eggs lately. Perfect texture of the whites, yolk is runny, and no extra butter / oil necessary!

POACH your eggs if you know what's up! Put 'em on some whole wheat toast, grind some salt and pepper on the kit, and you're good to go!

I'm actually getting there man! I've been boiling my eggs for a couple of minutes less, so that there's a tiny bit of runniness in the middle. I have to say it is MUCH more tasty than hard-boiled! But the texture is still a minor issue.
But I can see poached eggs not too far on the horizon for me :)

Poached eggs are the most flavoursome of all the ways you can cook eggs as far as im concerned. I dont particularly like them just because i love the fat mixed with egg taste(ie butter) alot more. Try poached eggs all cut up and mixed well ontop of toast, its really really really good. Right now im eating scrambled eggs on linseed gluten free bread, toasted, with bestfoods mayo and capers.... fucking EPIC. ahhhh!!!!! so good.

i've been consistently eating two hardboiled eggs each work day since posting in the thread. one added to my brekkie and another added to my lunch. i don't see myself getting sick of these any time soon. love em!

MMM, capers and olives.. its where its at!

I only just tried that recipe today and im in love, im never eating scrambled eggs without capers EVER again. It is like... coke and rum.. but food version!

I've been having scrambled eggs about 4 times a week lately.

Love th eggs =D

Although, I don't like the extra dairy needed to make scrambled i.e milk & butter.

Might go back to poached for a while.

Oh and for those of you that like eggs, try this.

You'll need:
  • pita bread or tortilla wrap
  • tomato relish
  • number of eggs varies on how much you want make
  • milk
  • butter
  • salt & pepper (don't over do it)
  • cheddar cheese
  • one diced tomato
  • any herbs to your liking if you so desire

Scramble your eggs as normal, I do mine in the frypan.
In the scramble throw in the relish and diced tomato as well as s & p.

Once consistency is nice & fluffy remove from the pan and wrap the scrambled egg in the wrap creating a pocket with no open ends.

You can put this in the fridge to eat later if you make more than needed.

Next step after the wrap is folded up throw on a pre heated flat bed jaffle maker and cook until the wrap is brown.

Best snack to carry on the go =D

I make some at home and take them to work and put it in the fridge & come lunch time I just have to put it in the jaffle maker to toast it.

Enjoy :)

a simple yet tasty chinese stirfry (the first one i learnt how to do), not the healthiest in the world but nice for a rare treat:

whisk a bunch of eggs into a foam
chops a bunch of tomatos into quarters or eighths
stir fry tomatos in wock with a little oil and then quickly add the foamy eggs and a bit of..... sugar!

chinese put sugar in everything. this is a simple sweet dish and it's super easy.

^^ How much sugar do you put in?? It doesn't sound unhealthy at all, unless there's like 1/2 cup of sugar in there or something??
