News Lawmakers OK plan to overhaul Washington's approach to drugs

I mean, it’s made some people wealthy through the carceral state and rehab industries etc, in that sense it has worked well. But from a public health perspective it’s been pretty much an unmitigated failure, as the market is constantly saturated with cheap unregulated narcotics. So in that regard the reforms make perfect sense and are worthy of praise. Very exciting developments in American drug policy over the past few years
