Mental Health Latuda (lurasidone)

I have bipolar disorder. I take Lamictal XR, BuSpar, Lunesta, and Latuda. I haven't been on Latuda very long. Is there anyone else taking Latuda?

I am also struggling with cocaine addiction. I heard trazodone helped with withdrawals. Help anyone. I am entering rehab on 2/3. Getting scared of entering treatment and being in a strange place with strangers. Never been away from family for a month. I also have to tell my 15 1/2 yr old son about my addiction. My family has to attend meetings on the weekend visit, so he would catch on to the reason that I'm going plus I'd rather tell him first. Has anyone ever had to tell their child about a drug problem? Help.

Hey, twirkit, congratulations on all the courage you have already shown and all that I know you are going to have to summon up during the process of dealing with your addiction. Telling your son won't be nearly as hard if you don't buy into the shame. Try to go slowly and not flood him with words. Tell him that you have an addiction and that you are going into treatment for it. Wait for him to digest this and then try to listen to his reactions and understand the feelings underneath. If you can just respond to the feelings ( fear which he may express as anger) with reassurance that you are motivated to heal and that although you yourself are scared you are also ready to face those fears. Maybe you could have some resources lined up for him? (There are alateen meetings specifically for teens with family members that suffer addiction, on-line resources and articles, etc. ) I really think the most important thing is for you to go into the talk without shame. You have a probem and you are taking steps to solve it--what a beautiful life lesson for your son.

I take Latuda (lurasidone) 60mg. in addition to Adderall (amphetamine salts) 60mg., Aplenzin (bupropion hydrobromide) 522mg., Effexor (venlafaxine) 150mg., Lamictal XR (lamotrigine) 200mg., Nuvigil (armodafinil) 250mg., Neurontin (gabapentin) 1,200mg. and Topamax (topiramate) 100mg.

I would say of every medication I take, Latuda is the MOST EFFECTIVE med I have EVER taken. No weight gain and few side effects and has improved my quality of life. I take 60mg. at night with my meal.

holy cow ....I thought I was pushing it with my amphetamines. I am right up there with you. I take 50 mgs of dexedrine along with 250 mgs Nuvigil. Similiar to your dosing.
I am always afraid to tell anybody this but honestly, I am not flying high. I also take 80mg latuda, 80 mgs prozac 60mg remron 2 mg xax at night and lyrica as needed. How are you feeling with all your meds? Did it take you a long time to get to this "cocktail"? It was alot of tough trial and errors until I landed mine. Finally , after 5 years of trials and 42 meds later, this is where I am at.
I am sorry to bud in here like this, i just have never encountered anyone else medicated similarly as me.

Oh , I must add, my quality of life has finally reached a level I am happy with. It was quite dreary for many years.
