Heroin Large tipped syringe: a violent mess

Hello Bluelight,

I am a typical heroin user who just does about one or two bags a day to prevent from being sick. After a week of little success with small tipped syringes, I made sure I would ask for LONG TIPPED needles when I went to the pharmacy. Thankfully, I only purchased three of them totaling $2.25 so I didn't waste money on an entire pack.

After opening up the first one i was blown away not how long the tip was but how THICK! As soon as I prepped my first shot I looked fr a vein. These days, I have trouble finding any and it is starting to worry me (it's my dumb fault for being poor at registering so don't flame me for that please) I began to find a vein and the first thing that happened is I bled out very violently. Usually if I bleed I can just lick it up and move on but I had to stop and get a towel. This was not a good situation. I hit with ease and then later yesterday I did another shot with ease.

THIS MORNING I woke up to do my shot and I realized that even when tied up all the arms in my vein were hiding! I almost panicked because I didn't know what to do. I recently heard about leg veins but I could not find one on my leg and I couldn't find out how to tie my leg properly.

I have 1 dollar left. What do you suggest I do? I can buy a fresh new stick but I DON'T want it to be small tip. I used to get nice THIN long tips. Should I trash the sticks?

What I'm very worried about is whether or not my veins are going to re surface by the next time I'm sick. I feel like my veins are pissed at me for stabbing them with this ridiculously sharp syringe..

Thanks guys I don't post much please dn't give me a hard time.

Perhaps look into a needle exchange program. I'm not all that up on the specifics as I don't IV, but I've heard they are a safe route to go, also might be able to help you find something that would be more like the 'thin long tips' you described. Be safe, and hopefully someone with more knowledge on this replies.

You can also try to find a red light to help you find your veins.

I wouldn't use anything bigger than about a 23-21ga needle for injections

Lord.. The largest gauge I used was 25 and it hurrt like hell. Similarly, the vein went into hiding for about a week after that.

Like Zoeylynn recomended, make sure to get a gauge that is at most 27 gauge. I find that for the forearms, the longer tips are best with gauges ranging from 28-30. When shooting anywhere else, I personally NEED to use a short tip 30 gauge point. The veins around your lower arm, wrist and hands are more delicate, you can't be jabbing them with some huge needle.

Agree.

I'm hearing a lot of insane numbers here. 31ga is the only way to go. Fcking 23? Jesus that's like an IV at a hospital.

If its a lower number (thicker) than 28 I wouldn't mess with it period. And definitely never re use unless 30ga or thinner.

When going to a pharmacy always specifics gauge, length, and capacity? How much it holds
