I did a quick search and didn't see this currently discussed anywhere. I haven't gotten a chance to look at the data in this paper yet but it seems that mitragynine may be enhancing cortisol synthesis and release through upregulation of the CYP 11b enzyme, this may account for some of the lethargy that people feel during withdrawal
