Ketamine freebase/amine?!

I am guessing this is the correct part of BL to ask, but if it isn't please move it to the right place, thank you.

Basically, I have acquired some ketamine freebase or 'amine' as the lab calls it (I am rather ignorant to say the least). It is a treacly brown substance, almost waxy. Heat obviously just makes it more liquid, so I am freezing it to make it solid. I have read online that the freebase is marginally more potent. If I solidify this substance and make a line out of it, will it have the desired effect? Or am I going to have to make it into a salt? I presume in it's current form it is going to be more caustic, but will it be dangerous?

It would probably be best to convert to the hydrochloride by dissolving in water with the minimum amount of HCl needed to dissolve it, followed by evaporation by a stream of air. I was interested in this thread because of my brief experience with ketamine and MXE base, made to see if vaporization might be a feasible ROA. What I experienced from either at 20 - 30 mg was dissociation within seconds lasting only a few minutes. Interesting chronology, but the large doses needed indicate to me that most of the material in destroyed by heat, even though they vaporize completely without darkening. So I don't know a good use for the bases themselves.

Thank you delic, that's what I suspected! The lab will be sending me the salt in the near future (I was impatient), so I think i'll just wait it out. I was tempted to try chasing the freebase, but i've heard it's disgusting to inhale and could be quite hazardous, so i'll give that one a miss for now!

I think you should make it into a salt, ketamine freebase is going to be a nasty compound to handle.
