I'm interested in ketamine therapy. I did one IM session with a therapist a while back that wasn't super effective but I'd like to revisit it. I'm thinking about doing the at-home protocol, but I was planning on getting ketamine on my own to save money instead of going through a standard company like Mindbloom.
With that being said, I have a few questions:
1. Are they using racemic ketamine for the troches or pure S-isomer? And is it the same type for IM/IV?
2. Best practices for ingestion (reddit had a lot of reports about the correlation between the duration of time that you leave it in your mouth prior to swallowing and the intensity of the experience)
3. Oral vs. boofing?
4. Recommended dosage?
5. What can I expect from the experience? What is the k-hole? Do I need a sitter? Is ketamine typically a scary or a peaceful experience? Pardon my ignorance, but I really know nothing about what to expect from this particular psychedelic.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Okay I'm going to attempt to do my best to answer you questions but unlike most drugs if your thinking of IV'ing this a whole new level of potential dangers come into this and you most certainly will need a trip sitter and if possible absolutely a medical professional. That being said these questions are not going to necessarily be as straight forward a answer as some other substances like MDMA may be, granted your only taking one main dose for a medical settings. Already this will differ on companies and their therapeutic approach, as well as guidelines and straight up laws regarding this. Not knowing exactly where you are does not help this but even if I did there would be little information I could provide without some lengthy research, and I'm not exactly trusting these companies will be happy to just divulge all their little secrets and tweaks of the therapy to just anyone researching.
So for question 1.) I will leave this open to others who may have more knowledge about the specifications of the medical industries standards or practices there.
As for 2.) Best ingestion method will vary depending on the individual, but differing from dosage or ROA that the medical industry uses will almost certainly have unforseen sidaffects and outcomes. As for highest Bioavailability of Ketamine (which route of administration will get the most of the substance into your blood stream with the least waste). Naturally this is going to of course mean that IV administration will be the highest intake and strongest experience, i cannot however suggest this as IV ketamine is more of a keep you down and steady for surgery kind of way of administering it, or a hardcore rec user IMO.
3.) Oral is going to be far less intense as boofing is known to hit close to if not as hard and just as powerfully as IV, with a longer duration of onset, also I have no experience here and would call on others who do, HOWEVER, the Bioavailability on research for this drug is abysmally low at 11-25% for Rectal ROA. This substance may be fine Intranasally as it helps to numb the user making the experience less rough, yet it may still irritate other parts of the body in a way that would prove counter productive to a useful experience. As for Oral allowing it to absorb through the gums and mouth its self through contact will be more like a intranasal uptake than say swallowing it encapsulated and allowing it to get to the stomach first.
4.) I and no one on this website can recommend your dosage, not just due to the fact it may not be pure, may be adulterated or just plain and simply may be stronger than most are us to and therefore a suggestion may show to lack effects, or cause a serious or even fatal situation.
5.) You cant really go into a dissociative expecting as much, some people absolutely freak out and never want to touch ketamine again, while many others my self included fucking adore its affects. Yes absolutely based on all the information given a trip sitter is warrented. As for the K hole, interesting as always to try and put into words.
Final Useful Information: This is quick cross referenced results from multiple countries health organisations hence such differing and varied results.
Bioavailability of ketamine Base on ROA:
Intravenous: 100%
Intramuscular: 93%
Intranasal Mixed results showing both: 8-45% and 25-50%
Sublingual: 30%
Oral im finding mixed results: 16-24% and 17-29%
Rectal: 11-25%
Finally stay safe, and as with any substance but ESPECIALLY KETAMINE! Do not get to fond or use to often, the stories of people pissing out their lining and all sorts of disgusting things you never want to experience can come with prolonged and often use of it. Worse yet unlike most users you don't have to spend years and a mental addiction going super hard to end up where many young guys and kids even have put them selves in this situation unknowingly having a bit to much of a good time.
