Just not addicted

I have a similar story to OP, only on much smaller scale. No heroin either, but everything else yes. I have a career I'm pursuing and I go to a uni. These are the ONLY things stopping me from falling off the deep end. I was addicted to meth for a few months. I told myself I wasn't, but knew I was when I was using after telling myself I wouldn't. I promise you its only a matter of time. Please heed the advice on this thread. It may well save your life.

Everyone hit the nail on the head so I won't spend too much time beating a dead horse.

All I'll say is:

We've all been there.

"I won't get addicted. I know my limits. I know how much to use without going into WD. I'm the master of my own body. I'm in control."

Thought those things to myself daily for two years while casually doing Oxycodone. Never had WD, never had any major cravings. Took various week long breaks whenever I wanted. I felt invincible. Where am I now? 300mg/day deep facing horrific bone crunching WD's and majorly mentally addicted.

So much for knowing my limits. Don't be arrogant. It'll sneak up on you and then you'll be joining us all down here in the seventh circle of hell, making topics in desperation looking for help/answers on how to make the pain go away.

I wish you well, but you're making one fatal mistake; lack of humility.

Time to repeat what everyone said. If you keep this up you will be an addict. You are not special I think the majority of addicts are like that at first. Please stop using so much so often.

You will become one of us, those who felt the same did the same and now warn people.
