its happening again, not as much here, but on pillreports. Comments like "best pills of my life, so glad ive got another 50 in my pocket" etc...
We are not, I repeat NOT invincible. Its always someone else who gets caught and lands in jail, ruining thier lives because they were stupidly, blatently obvious with their drug consumption.
I read an article in a british tabloid (shame!) on this girl who grew up in the perfect household. Parents were hugely wealthy, but emphasised the importance of doing what you want, and that money is not important. Loving siblings, smart girl (top of class in law) and when she got to uni, she started popping pills. Innocent enough, cept she was busted because of selling to people she didnt know (she wasnt a d/d, but had some shit on her) and got thrown into jail for 3 years.
Is this an oxymoron? yes. This is a drug board, but it still pays to have common sense around here. I think most of us know who has bulk on this board, and the fact is, we shouldnt. Please be careful. Dont be too paranoid, but just careful.

Yes the boards are being watched-for collating-disemination-patterns-dealing etc.
JB reaffirmed this belief with a contact of his-its no longer paranoia.
I would also be carful what you all discuss on ICQ or any chat medium, they are insecure! Grab PGP-prety good privacy (you may find it a little hard to configure but worth the effort)encryption is your only safe gaurd.

*I've tried most drugs but, Ecstasy would have to rate as being the sweetest of them all*

I don't know any of you people and I don't know what the hell you're all talking about!!..

Drugs are the answer, now what was the question?....

Quite apart from getting yourself busted, silly comments like "yeah i stocked up on these big" or "does anyone have any [whatever] pills left??" is against the law in enough places to get BL shut down (ouch!) I'm guessing the US police watch bits & pieces of it, and you'd be foolish to say our section isn't glanced at from time to time.
It's probably better to keep it along the lines of a social chat, & source for harm minimisation. I know this will probably win "Most Stereotypical Comment of 2001" but that's by far the best part about it (for me anyway). Lots of times i've been been able to warn friends off buying dodgy K or DXM pills (potentially dangerous) or at least refer them here.
besides, if you want to buy/sell/swap drugs, go look awkward in a corner of a club somewhere, you'll be approached for sure!! no use telling everyone on here about it.. nobody wants to know!!

Hey man I just had a line off my 6metre high pile of coke and I'll fucken tell you what... I am fucken invincible orrite!!? Don't you try and tell me otherwise! You think I'm a poosey or something? Come on! Outside with yer!

" ok a mr acid reign mentioned 2000 pills "
" be on the look out for a acid_reign "
* copper puts the cb down..
Seriously we all talk under assumed names here..
nowhere do we give out personal information other than a/s/l (vague location) what avenues would police have to track down a mr acid_reign ..
And if there are avenues im sure they can be altered and blocked..
so do tell im very curious.

Here's a scenario...
Random BLer often posts about the large amounts of pills they have... They're not dealing, but they always seem to have pills, and always seem to know about what's going round... Cops decide he'd be a good lead to get in contact with a dealer, 'cos Random Bler would definately know one... Cops cops see a meetup organised that RBlr is going to, undercover turns up at the meetup time, spots group of people who could be the Bluelighters, finds out who RBlr is, then RBlr has to be careful otherwise he could end up in a lot of trouble...
A bit far fetched at certain points, but still possible under the right circumstances, and if RBler does anything stupid he could end up in jail...

This thread is starting to look like it should belong in Legal issues section but i dont think anybody really reads that unless they have a specific enquiry!
I have wondered myself about these issues - mainly about how relevant this information is to the police and what their policies are on dealing with the people and information on Bluelight.
For starters, okay cops may be familiar with bluelight and read it frequently - but do they have the IT skills to actually do anything?
For example - A cop sees a post where somebody says "My dealer has 1000 of these" or something like that.. Will the police be intelligent enough to be able to locate and identify that individual? Will they check the IP adress of who sent that? Or will they look at the Bluelight user profile, obtain their email adress or ICQ number and try to detain information from there? Are they that professional?
Or is it more likely that the cops simply use this site in identifying what pills are out there? This page could be just as useful in educating the authorities as well as the MDMA consuming public!
Just another thought - as somebody mentioned about discussing drugs and dealings on ICQ and email - is it likely that if somebody had discussed their drug use and or dealings, that their identidy and details would be on police files somewhere because of it? Have we all been marked down somewhere as 'suspicious characters, watch closely'?
Say somebody were to get taken to court over ecstacy related issues, could the prosecuters put forth Bluelight posts as evidence? Or could the individual just say "wasnt me dont know who wrote it". How binding is what you write on the internet?
Anyone have a clue about any of these questions?

Communter, i understand that you are saying the AFP are generally STUPID and inefficient. But having a certain degree of healthy paranoid never hurt anybody.
IF and when they throw the book at you, it will hurt!!!!
Everyone just be extra careful and not get too relaxed. besides, on top of the AFP, whatever you post here someone could use against you in your future career as a stateman or a person of high profile.

two cliches that are endlessly repeated but completely untrue:
1. you can always spot the undercover cops coz they dress so daggy.
2. the cops dont know anything about the internet.
believe these and you deserve to go to jail.
cops don't need to know anything about computers, even tho plenty of them do. they employ thousands of civilians in support roles, many of them in the area of IT, many of them with degrees and years of experience in hacking. this isn't just guessing on my part, i've met them. it's a job like any other, except it pays very well and has some interesting side benefits.
i also know that the federal police keep files on some particularly small time operators. not that they necessarily charge anyone, but the do spend an awful amount of money survelling the most unlikely of people.
i agree, however, that the bulk of the intelligence gathered from this site is simple statistic of what pills are around where, in what rough numbers. and this is nothing to worry about if you are just consuming pills and reporting on them personally.
BUT if you discuss things like price and talk about large numbers you will single yourself out for closer attention.
as far as binding evidence goes there is already a large amount of precedent in prosecuting people on the strength of their IP addresses. in the case of Bluelight australia police would have to do one of two things to get those numbers and tie them to individual posts; subpeona us or steal them.
if they tried it legally it would be a jurisdictional nightmare. the numbers are held in a u.s. based server but that server is technically the property of overseas nationals.
if they hacked in and got them it would be very difficult to then use them in a legal case.

Okay, here's another hypothetical.
Random Bluelighter (he's getting a lot of press lately isn't he) is busted somehow because he had too many pills on him. He's a Software Engineer. He doesn't want to go to jail. Cop want him to idenitfy some people in exchange for a no conviction finding.
It's either say, this is so and so, from pictures or face to face, and say these are their e-mail address' on my computer, and yadda yadda yadda, or its RBler is turning into a used and abused bitch for some "Sweaty steriod pumping meat head" in prison.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO????

i really doubt the police are going to ask him to identify other random BLers, who havent committed any crimes. They will want to know who sold him the pills. just supposing they did want certain BLers identifed, well it's only going to be because those people were stupid enough to say, or infer, on BL that they were up to serious crimes like trafficking.
this has been the central part of this thread; dont say anything unnecessary here. when we discuss our personal use of drugs we aren't committing a crime, and we are only discussing a minor crime; personal use.
this is why BL is here, to supply information to people who choose to take MDMA, NOT to help dealers. if you cross that line then on your head be it.
we don't need to know that you have 50 of these pills, we don't need to know that you know a guy who can get hundreds, we certainly dont need to know that you are looking to get more. none of us need to know these things, so don't tell us. but we do need to know certain information to keep us all safe, and that's why BL exists.
oh and btw: it's polite in a serious discussion thread to not use your huge sig...

Thanks Johnboy,
Youve basically answered everything i was wondering about. If i were the police, id definately keep an eye out for you! Your knowledge is powerful.
Goose, I wasnt being flippant, re read my post its actually incredibly paranoid. I was speculating (as paranoid conspiracy theorists do) about how well developed the police knowledge is about this site and its users.
Bass - if I was taken to court over bluelight issues, id use the opportunity as a soapbox to complain about the tax payers money being spent on chasing a percieved drug user hehe.
Good luck to everybody in the future. I hope nobody has to worry about incarceration over what they have said here!
