Hello all. So I happen to come across some 4mg white dilaudid hydromorphone pills. The ones with the capitol "M" on one side and a "4" on the other. Now I have used these before, but I have only snorted them. I recently started to try and use them intravenously, because the rush and overall effects from snorting these things was not very pleasurable or worth it. And I am aware that the best bang for your buck so to speak is shooting these. I have read up on safe injecting habits and have successfully shot heroin before a couple of times. I understand that preparing these dilaudids for IV is a similar method to preparing Heroin. You crush the pill as finely as you can, place it in a spoon or bottle cap or whatever, add water, filter, draw up, sterilize, and shoot. My problem happens at the add water and filter stage. I seem to always end up with a gunky pasty residue that doesn't seem to work too well. I do not get the same amount of water in the syringe as the amount of water that I add to the dilaudid. I am using a standard 1CC insulin syringe and I add about 40 units of water to the dilaudid. However I still always end up with this gooey substance and when I attempt to draw up the solution I barely get any liquid in the syringe. Am I just not using enough water? I have read not to apply heat so I have never done that. What would be a more effective unit of water that I should add to only 1 4mg dilaudid pill? Thank you.

You probably need more water. Hydromorphone itself is very water soluble, all that gunky shit are the pill binders and other nasty stuff you don't want, so it's normal for that to be left over in the spoon. You don't want that in your syringe. If you're only trying to break down one 4mg pill, you really shouldn't have too much trouble or need much water. I used to be able to fit 32mg's in a 1cc rig.

Using a larger piece of cotton also helps and wet it first. Ideally, you should be using a micron filter when shooting pills. It's the safest way to do it, and you'll get the cleanest solution.

And yes, do not cook it. By adding heat, you're melting and dissolving all those pill binders and nasty shit into your mix. Not good.

Larger cotton, use an old plunger to press down on the damp powder left behind to extract most the water. I would use a bit more water and make sure you stir well for at least 45 seconds, personally. If you feel that there is a lot of moisture left behind in the 'gunk' try to extract it with your large piece of filter and if this still doesn't do the trick grab another clean filter and try to extract as much as possible.

Yeah sometimes you need a few cottons, as one will get clogged up with gunk, so if you throw a fresh one in there, it's a lot easier.

But, this is why you should use a micron filter.. you really want all that nasty gunk in your veins? :\
