It should be legalized!

Marijuana should be legalized, knowing that it helps those with cancer, it can't be all bad.. the goverment is just looking at the bad side of the drug, not the benefits of the drug. They should consitrated on the harder drugs like Cocaine and leave Weed to the rest of us.. Besides people who have Cancer are often going to die anyway, so why not give them something that will help them be more active and feel better until the end..instead of feeling miserable . Just doesn't seem right what the goverments doing. I think everyone should be able to grow a plant, for themselves 1 plant or maybe 2, but after that anything more should be considered illegal, and we should be able to purchase it at the package store, where only 21 year olds can go and buy beer, if it was sold there, then only 21 year olds would be able to purchase it, because they would have to show ID that they were over 21. They need to consintrate on the drugs like Cocaine, LSD, and any other type of drug. Especially if before now, the American Indians smoked weed, if they did it, then we should be able too. Or at least we should have a choice..there's all these reasons why we shouldn't do it, now we need to hear how Weed can help people. I'm sure the American Indians, smoked weed, for certain illnesses, why wouldn't they..?? The Goverment needs to just back off and let us decide for ourselves if we want to smoke weed or not, maybe if it was legal a lot of those who are selling it, would be out of business because the demand would be less, and they couldn't charge a lot of it. Sell it, and allow us to buy it in packs of 20 like cigarettes, and make 3 different kinds, small, medium and extra fat... if the goverment controls the making of it, they could certainly tax it, which would give the goverment money. Go after those who have large large amounts, but don't arrest those that only have a small little amount, thats stupid. 8)
 
Legalization is a tough topic. Though i agree it should be legalized i dont agree with points such as people have been doing it forever. There was a point where human sacrifices to the gods were common, but we stopped that, not comparing the two just saying.

Also we cant be sure that it will lower the price taxes might make them higher. Also you have to analyze the justice system slight farther then the arrest. Yes it sucks to get arrested ive been there, but its more then just the cops. When i got arrested i gave them a job, i then gave my lawyers a job, the judge, the probation office, the rehab place and the urine lab.

I find that last part to be the biggest factor. Marijuana counts for a large amount of arrests, court cases, probation officers, ect. It just hard to tell those individuals they arnt needed or they have to lay a few thousand of them off due to the decline in arrests.

Again im not saying any of this is right im for legalization. You just need to realize its deeper then "we should be able to smoke weed, like wtf. This is also more like journal or blog material i suppose.
 
that was quite the rant... however, i think selling them at liquor stores would not be the best idea and that proposal will not get it legalized any sooner. reason being, if 21+ people buy booze for minors then those same people would also by pot for minors.

Exactly. This is exactly my take on things with the people being layed off and such if weed was legal. I'm for marijuana legalization, honestly the goverment doesn't care about the greater good of the people and all that shit and that it could help millions of people. All they care about is how they could make the maximized profit possible for them and all their other corrupt politician friends. The only way I see it getting legalized is when they find out a way to legalize it while making lots of money and there's no way they could lose, but that will be in yeaars, if it even gets legalized at all.. That's just my take on things though.

true.

but its easier for minors to get pot than it is for them to get alcohol.
 
Dude no one on here is going to argue that weed really should be illegal. I disagree with some of your post about other drugs, I think all drugs should be legal and even still you are definately misinformed to call LSD a hard drug and put it in the same league as cocaine.
 
Well, I'm one to believe that we should all be allowed to make our own choices, even mistakes, if it doesn't harm anyone.

But... i'm perfectly fine with the way things are for grass, but I'm Canadian. I get my stuff delivered five or ten minutes after I call, prices are good, and quality is excellent. I don't have to hide to smoke even if it is illegal. Within reason, or course, if the cops stop at a red with their windows down in the suburbs, you're fucked. But yes. Aside from that, look at alcohol and tobacco and how the government has their fucking fingers in it all. They tax the hell out of these products. But I do live in Quebec, so maybe that explains my paranoia.
