Founded in 1938, “Neturei Karta” (Aramaic for “Guardians of the Gates”) opposes the contemporary state of Israel because it does not believe that the Jewish people have the right to self-determination and because only God can restore Jewish sovereignty in the land of Israel by bringing the Messiah. NK has a very extreme agenda and has regularly aligned with international anti-Semites, Islamic extremists and groups that advocate violence against Israel. In recent years, leaders of Neturei Karta have met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on several occasions in New York and Tehran, as well as leaders of Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The group’s participation in a “Holocaust Review” conference in Tehran in December 2006, which was attended by a host of international Holocaust deniers, demonstrated the group’s willingness to meet with the vilest of extremists.

In 2012, leaders of Neturei Karta met with highranking Hezbollah officials on at least two occasions. In March, several NK leaders participated in a “Global March to Jerusalem” and laid a wreath at the tomb of Hezbollah terrorist Imad Mugniyeh. Then in June, some of those same leaders attended a conference in Lebanon about the IsraeliPalestinian conflict and met with Hezbollah leader Sheikh Nabil al-Kauk. Leaders of Neturei Karta also met with NK leaders in Beirut during the Global March to Jerusalem in 2012 18 Ahmadinejad while he was in New York during the UN General Assembly in September of that year.

oh its the ADL, right? I'm not surprised that the mouthpiece for Israel doesn't like anti israel groups

I don't see much that's problematic with what is in that description, having discussions with people and respecting the dead are not bad things

You don't see a problem meeting with Hamas and Hezbollah? Wow, very enlightening.

They don't support Palestine because they give a shit about the Palestinians. They support anyone who poses a threat to the state of Israel because they're fundamentalist views. They're using this conflict as a prop to further their own religious agenda. And leftists eat it up.

Do you disagree with numerous human rights organizations, including those in Israel who have direct experience with the situation, that Israel is an apartheid state?

I did see that which I directly referenced. Or do you not consider them to be "people"?

Awww did I dehumanize the terrorists?
Give me a break.

"The group’s participation in a “Holocaust Review” conference in Tehran in December 2006, which was attended by a host of international Holocaust deniers, demonstrated the group’s willingness to meet with the vilest of extremists."

Just meeting with "people". Talking about "things".

Why do you think you have a more informed position than these numerous organizations, many of whom are operating inside Israel?

Because I think it is hyperbolic to describe inequities that exist in every society as apartheid. It is wrong to conflate the situation in modern day Israel with what happened in South Africa or what happened in the US with segregation. Arabs in Israel are judges, ambassadors, legislators, journalists, professors, etc. They have representation in government.

Are there problems? Definitely. Work needs to be done to bridge the gap. Right there with you on that.

But it's not apartheid.

I asked why you think you are more informed than the organizations who describe it as apartheid

But he's making a claim that directly contradicts what those organizations are saying based on evidence that they have observed and collected, those organizations are saying that the situation is comparable to apartheid south Africa and US segregation and he is saying that they are wrong. I am wondering what his evidence is that contradicts their claims.

Just saying "I don't agree" is nonsense because what is that even based on? What information?

These are organizations with hundreds if not thousands of people dedicated to documenting human rights abuses and they are on the ground inside Israel among other places.

Because "organizations with evidence" are infallible and never ever wrong... never have any biases or motives...should never be questioned by anyone with less credentials than them.

Kind of like the "organizations" that recommended lockdowns during Covid... lockdowns that even NPR is critical of now. Just heard a very good convo on that yesterday.
