So if one trans person had started a fight, you would therefore discriminate against every trans person and restrict their freedom of movement on their campus? That's fucked up.
 
It was much more than one instance, which is why UCLA added the metal barricades. The bottom line is that the student in the video blatantly lied to provoke rage over something that isn't happening. He is not being denied access to education or resources.

I'm sorry for repeating myself, but just to be perfectly clear, if there was a MAGA encampment inside Columbia University, and there had been a few instances of black and trans violence against MAGA protestors, you would support their "right" to physically block ALL black and trans people from entering their space?
 
What's being done is blocking people who are not there to join the protest, not blocking based on being Jewish or not. Just to be clear

What was the purpose of the student trying to get in? He wasn't there to join the protest with them
 
He doesn't need a reason to get in. Get that through your head. He pays tuition there and has the same right to occupy that space as they do.
 
A school has the right to determine rights to access spaces on their campus. A school may have an auditorium that students can access freely besides when an event is happening for which they might need a ticket. A student then does not have access rights to that space for the duration of the event. If a student goes to the entrance of the auditorium and films themselves being denied access and crying about their rights, that's obviously a disingenuous attempt to gain access to the space at a time during an event which school admin has decided requires certain rights to access due to the event.

The student organizers worked with UCLA to set up this event, just like any other student event they are allowed to decide who has access.

There are no tickets. The University has made no statements about certain people not being allowed there. And even IF they did, it wouldn't give a student the right to physically block another student from passing through.

What a gigantic stretch that was... 💀

but at the same time, this is something different... because these kids aren't even protesting American issues. Israel would have done what they did without any American financial support. Israel will continue doing what they are doing regardless of what the US says.

Do you think if Biden suddenly halted financial and military support to Israel, that they would just pack up and go home, stop protesting? I don't think so.

If we were able to subtract the muslim contingent from these protests, both in the USA and UK, I don't think they would be anywhere near as large as they are. I'm all for anti-war protesting, but when you start waving Islamist flags and wearing certain attire then you kind of lose all credibility really, because you're not actually anti-war but just anti-Israel (or anti-Semitic).

This isn't even touching the fact that what's happening now had a real pretext for it, the butchery of October 7th and the (continuing) hostage situation, whereas Vietnam was just a bunch of military industrial complex shenanigans masquerading as an organic situation.

The violent protestors who have occupied and vandalized campus property are now demanding "humanitarian aid" so that they don't die of dehydration and starvation.
