Following World War II, Bondi Beach and the Eastern Suburbs became home for Jewish migrants from Poland, Russia, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Germany. A stream of Jewish immigration continued into the 21st century and the area has a number of synagogues and a kosher butcher. The multicultural migration funded and drove the growth of the suburb throughout the 1990s into the turn of the century,[9] moving it steadily from its working-class roots towards an upper/middle-class enclave[10] similar to its neighbours of Rose Bay and Bellevue Hill which was listed as the most expensive postcode in the country from 2003 to 2005.[11][12]

Iran has launched aerial drones at Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says, appearing to mark a widely anticipated reprisal attack.

Israel's Channel 12 TV says the salvo is expected to reach Israel at 02:00 on Sunday (23:00 GMT on Saturday).

It said Israeli forces were on high alert and "monitoring all targets".

Iran had vowed to retaliate for an attack on its consulate in Syria on 1 April which killed seven military officers, including a top commander.

It accused Israel of carrying out that attack. Israel has neither confirmed nor denied it.

Shortly before news of Iran's drone launch, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country's "defensive systems" were deployed.

"We are ready for any scenario, both defensively and offensively. The State of Israel is strong. The IDF is strong. The public is strong.
 
I think they're launching cruise missiles too but they're faster so they'll launch them to arrive at the same time as the drones
 
BBC was just saying sirens in Northern Israel and twitter seems to be suggesting Hezbollah are launching stuff now. France News agency saying stuff is being launched from Yemen too.

Jordan says it will shoot down anything entering its airspace from Iran. Reports and footage of drones/missiles now flying over Iraq.

EDIT: BBC saying that possibly ballistic missiles have been launched from Iran too, not confirmed.

UK and america have already shot down over 100 drones with their fighter jets.

People will see the full power of the west on dispaly. Russia would be fucked if they went into a war with NATO. we can intercept everything
 
BBC saying that US intel suggesting stuff might start reaching Israel at 2am local time (in about 10 minutes).
