Israel is under attack

Let's all show a bit of respect.
i don't think it's disrespectful to debate these atrocities... these are important af in world politics and refraining from discussing the awful shit that's currently happening would seem to me to be letting them die in vain.

(humans discussing in general, not just us druggies)

There is a lot of footage of multiple rocket launches from the strip, one deviates from the trajectory of the others, appears to break up and then a massive explosion from Gaza. I don't know what to believe, but given how little this could possibly benefit Israel, and given Hamas using civilians as both cover and rocket launching sites, there is pretty good reason to be sceptical of what Hamas say.

I feel kinda sickened having this argument, as if 500 innocent people weren't just killed. "These murdered civlians will help me win an argument online, hurray!"

Let's all show a bit of respect.
That's not what people were saying when they were parading around the idea of beheaded babies. Shouldn't we have some respect for the babies? Or does that logic only apply to one side?

No I'm saying that everyone who was talking about Hamas beheading babies don't have respect for dead children, but only if your line of logic follows

So it's okay to bomb civilians then? Oh but I heard a bad guy was in there so we just had to kill all of those children

Yea that's why I don't believe info when the IDF is quoted, they consistently lie about killing and torturing civilians
How many women and kids have the IDF taken as hostages ? Hamas shoots rockets from hospitals. When you're in a war you're going to retaliate to where the bombs are flying from. Maybe Hamas should stop firing rockets from hospitals and schools.

You're defending people who use women and kids as bombs. I've yet to hear of any other group outside Hamas/isis/taliban/hezbollah doing that to their own.

"Israeli police targeted Palestinians with discriminatory arrests, torture and unlawful force"

I never said a "Jewish State". Everyone knows that occurred in the 20th century.

However, the Jewish people were there in that area centuries before Islam even existed. That is historical fact no?
Of the 3 religions that spawned in that specific piece of Earth, Christians and Muslims basically own 2/3rds of the whole planet. Everything outside of Asia and Antarctica. Both have also comitted countless atrocities throughout the millennia. Hundreds of millions of murders.

I'm not defending IDF in this instance, I just think its fair for them to own and defend one tiny little country.

People are hyperfocused on one narrative which spans a relatively small amount of human history.

Why is it fair? Does every religious group deserve their own country? That land was taken from Palestinians who continue to be ethnically cleansed from the land, is that fair just because they don't have a country of their own? The only reason they were given Israel in the first place is because of the antisemitism in the UK and US. They didn't want the Jews so they kicked them off to the middle east

Then they shouldn't be doing that either. Nothing good is happening for the common people on both sides. The world has no morals
I 100% agree. There is a lot of shittiness on both sides. From my perspective on the evidence that I've seen, the shiftiness is greater on the Israel side and not only because the Israelis have slaughtered and tortured more than 40x as many civilians as Hamas. Yes Hama's is terrible but they are a reaction to the genocide and ethnic cleansing that Palestine is experiencing at the hands of Israel. The best solution is to stop forcing people out of their homes, stop the genocide, stop the laws enforcing ethnic cleansing in Israel, stop the blockade of Gaza so people can actually build the things their society needs. This stuff isn't new, its been going on for decades

I don't think any religious group deserves anything. It was just an example to illustrate my point about people focusing on modern history, which most only have vague and narrow understanding of.

The Palestinians took it from other people. The Ottomans owned it or some shit. The Ottomans stole it from the Romans. The Romans stole it from the Cavemen. The Cavemen stole it from the animals.

I'm being facetious but have a real point.

I'm not sure how accurate that is, but would love to read about it. I'm a WWII history enthusiast.

There were certainly many many Jews who desired to return to their homeland after the war.

But if the Jews were forced to go there by bigots... why can't they defend themselves?

Where should they have gone?

My mind wants to tie war to matter/ antimatter symmetry like we're just echoes from a very very distant tide plus albatrosses and eiderdowns.

The British always used this same propaganda against the Irish. Im surprised some people still fall for it. If Israel or for that matter cnn, bbc, cbc, etc told me it was raining i would go outside and check.

I guess it's alright for Israel to bomb hospitals though. Thats pretty goddamn low. Personally if i was in Palestine i wouldnt let that go either

Britain was the one who gave the land to the Jewish people, they could have easily welcomed refugees and so could the US but instead they decided to pull some colonial shit and give them the power to take land from people who were already living there. Frankly I don't think it matters who the Palestinians got it from the point is that people were settled there and the new Israelites began ethnically cleansing them, which continues to this day in Gaza and the west bank.

"Significant Jewish immigration from Eastern Europe in the years prior to World War I generated some opposition and resulted in increasingly restrictive immigration laws. Similarly, an emerging fascist movement in the 1930s which launched antisemitic campaigns was accompanied by a government policy of restricting the inflow of Jewish refugees from Nazi controlled territories. Notwithstanding sympathy for the Jews following the Holocaust, immigration controls to Britain Palestine were maintained while Zionist attacks on British forces in Palestine in 1947 caused some resentment."

No propaganda at all Hamas has shot rockets from atop their hospitals. You believe communism works so i wouldn't go on the i think for myself spiel

Oh man, what a situation

That's from 2018 and the fact it's not from now is kinda disappointing when thinking about the "are we in a simulation" theory

Isn't Gaza the most surveiled place on the planet according to Israel? Why don't they send in the IDF to do an in person surgical strike if they know where Hamas is?

Instead they add to the list of war crimes and bomb hospitals filled with children
