It's made possible by a VFX technique that is called Ray Tracing. Even more impressive: by using keying you can REMOVE entire people and objects from live-action footage. I actually worked in the VFX industry as a lateral recruit and have done some of these things (admittedly though, not on the level of professionality as some senior compositor) so I actually know what I'm talking about here.
That's what compositors do EVERY DAY to earn their bread lol.
Since you are such an expert on this matter, then I am sure you are generous enough to enlighten us on what we need to look out for in order to discern good AI content from the bad ones. Even though you failed on an epic level on the whole lightning part above, I still wanna give you the benefit of the doubt, so please explain. I'm all ears

You need to actually get the facts straight. When Britain left Mandatory Palestine, the land was divided by the UN between the Jews and Palestinians. The Jews accepted the partition, the Palestinians didn't and declared war immediately. That is literally historical fact. There could have been two states but one side didn't want it. That side also colluded with the Nazis because they hate the Jews for religious reasons. And still want them dead. How anyone with a degree of morality could support that is beyond me but you are clearly ignorant of the actual facts here.

Nowhere have I defended Israel without equivocation and I did clearly state my suspicions about a possible deliberate intelligence failure (or more) on their part. I'm not blind to the possibilities and I keep an open mind, and I'm not blind to their own past crimes (white phosphorus, cluster bombs, etc), but I'm also not going to pretend what has just happened is somehow all a mirage of intelligence agency deception.
I shouldn't have to point out the obvious here, but WHY would Israel even need to fake footage of barbarism on Hamas part. Hamas will do all that for free, they openly express their desire for it. Do you really think they need to spend time and money faking footage when all they have to do is just open the door and let them in? Get real, come on.
Like I said, I was aware of the 9/11 fakery discussion back in the mid-00's. I've already seen that video and many others. That was real-time compositing, which is extremely difficult to pull off and they still fucked it up as well (helicopter drift). But it is also not comparable to what you are insinuating with the videos we've seen in Israel of complex scenes; two buildings against a chromakey background with a composited aeroplane is about as 'easy' as it's going to get. Just saying 'AI' etc is not good enough to explain videos that appeared literally as it was happening, videos which show verifiable scenes and people.
Again, this all misses the simple of point of WHY they would need to fake it in the first place. Two jet-liners going at maximum operating speed at ground level flown by total novice pilots and hitting two targets accurately requires fakery, because it was central to the narrative (structural building failure) and couldn't be guaranteed to happen for real. You don't need to fake videos of people who are openly willing to butcher others for free. Do you even have an reasonable hypothesis of why, beyond just preventing your own narrative from collapsing? I can entertain the 9/11 hypothesis because it is plausible in that context, but you're going to struggle to convince me they needed to fake this Hamas operation video footage.
