I think a big part in this is the Palestinians have no real voice on the world stage to tell people what happens to them most the time, if you only hear half the story it’s pretty easy to take that as the whole picture

I think there’s actually a lot of condemnation of extreme jihadi groups. Al Qaeda was widely condemned post 9/11, ISIS was widely condemned ten years ago, etc (including by the overwhelming majority of Muslim organizations, it should be emphasized.) Condemning that kind of activism is easy.
And it’s also easy to play the “oh well at least my side didn’t do THIS horrific war crime!” The conflict has been going on for nearly a century and there’s no shortage of monstrous shit to be blamed on either side. So I could say, oh well at least the Palestinians don’t barbecue entire city blocks!

Islam is an explicitly imperialistic and authoritarian belief system in a way that hardly any other modern religions are. You simply do not see Palestinian Christians beheading people, doing suicide bombings, putting women in bags, calling for genocide at even a fraction of the amount of Palestinian Muslims who do. This latter group aren't 'bad' people, they're just enthralled to a 'bad' belief structure which is uniquely bad among an entire constellation of bad belief structures.
