Is this a gram?

Not too sure if I am allowed to post pics...

But, recently I have been buying weed from this guy who I met a few weeks ago. I have never really bought weed before, if I have it well it's because it's there at a mates place.

But, since I have not been buying and I don't have scales, I have absolutely NO idea if I am buying a gram or not which is really frustrating.

Here are some pics of it in the saddy and chopped up with no tobacco.

Saddy is about 7cm long from the VERY top of the bag... the weed in there isn't very thick at all... looks like .5 g to me :(

OMG

I just spilt the bong water over half the chopped up weed? its half wet!!

what do i do to fix it??? :( :(
 
Cant tell the weight from a picture mate, if it didn't weigh a gram before it probably does now, seen as its water logged haha. Gently blot it with kitchen roll then leave it somewhere to dry out. Should be ok.
 
As far as your bag goes, can't really tell from those pictures man (although if I HAD to guess based off those pics, the bag certainly looks short to me). If you fear you may be buying short bags, just bring one of the bags to a pothead friend, he should be able to tell you just by looking.

Get a paper-towel and press down on the bud to absorb as much water as possible, then put the bud under a regular desk lamp to dry out (being sure to leave plenty of room between the bulb and your bud). Goodluck.

1) Try drying it under a light bulb on a piece of paper.

2) buy a scale (either over the internet or in your local head shop or equivalent). Also, if you can't see it being weighed in front of you, you probably shouldn't buy it in the first place anyway, but I'm aware that's not possible for everyone (word for the future).

3) try to only fill your bong up w/ as little water as necessary, and keep the weed on a safe surface far away from drafts/water/pets etc. (maybe put another plate over it.

4) That looks like less than a gram since its mostly shake rather than solid buds, but i couldn't say for sure. I suppose the question really is, is it enough for your purposes/ the price?

drying up grinded weed with towels? fck that. just put it under a heating lamp or something that gives off enough heat to dry it but no more than that. and it looks less than a gram.
 
Trust me mate, blot off a much excess moisture as you can. Putting wet weed under heat will create steam, which in turn will ruin the product.
 
I buy grams all the time and although your bag is bigger than the ones my weed comes in, it still looks a little light to me. Theres no way for us to know from a picture how much it weighs but Im willing to bet its close to but under a gram. Judging from my own experience, its probably around the .7-.9 mark but like I said, thats a total guess and you wont find out without a scale. I suggest you buy one to be honest. I never saw the point until I actually bought one. I was considering selling to friends and was gonna start off with an Oz, obviously I needed scales to buy and distribute that ounce so i got one for $60 AUD. Whenever I buy a 'gram' I check it on the scales. I can usually guess how much it is once its in my hand now which is why i reckon its about .7. If its short, for me, its usually exactly .7 and if its big its like 1.3 or 4. Probably coincedence though.
 
Intrigued by this problem, I decided to phone my guy to see what he said about it. He said, even small amounts of vapour will cause the trichomes to melt and get carried off by the vapour,effectively making your green less potent. Let it dry naturally.

Thanks for all the replies. I was devastated that I spilt the fucking bong water over it after it was all chopped up and everything! :(

I only just logged on then but what I did was put it in the oven on low for about 15 minutes, i got around 3 cones out of it, but they didn't really work.

Next time actually there WONT be a next time but if it does happen again I will use the paper towel and desk light trick and be patient about it.

Really sucks, I was looking forward to getting realllllly stoned tonight and doing some cleaning, now I have to wait another 18 hrs to get some! :(

Well I think it's around the .7 mark and I am getting ripped off because 1 gram should last a person who doesn't smoke much atleast 1 day, lasted me around 8 hours with around 10 cones... But since I have no one else to go to, I will learn to deal with it.

Thanks for the help, I will post another more clear pic with measurements tomorrow when I pick up. This time I am not going to spill the bong water! AgHHHHHHHHHH, happens to the best of us!
 
what you've got there looks like half a gram but there's no way to tell, get yourself a pair of scales or borrow a friends and way it up. Or even better, get your dealer to weigh it up in front of you.
 
I can only guess since you havent even put a coin or something else next to the bag to compare size, and weed can vary in weight dependenton wetness. My guess is you have roughly .5-.6 grams there mate, I hope it is a fucking good smoke if your asshole dealer is charging you the price of a gram for it :p).
 
A Cone is like a bowl just smaller from what i've gathered, so if small enough one could fit 10 packs out of a gram.

& To all the people telling him to get it weighed out in front of him, how many dealers you know who are willing to carry scales around for a gram? Maybe if you go up to his house to buy it then you ask for it weighed out. But if your meeting him behind some shadey building at the bottom of some steps it ain't never gonna happen for a gram.
 
If what is on the plate is all you have, then that is ~.5 grams. One of my buddies rolls 2 toothpick J's out of gram and what you have on that plate is what would fill one of them.
 
word of advice, and im not really even that smart but...

think about it, how much did u pay for that g? 10 maybe? and how many "g"s have u bought now, 4-5 maybe?

if you get .7-8g each time, that's .3 each time x5 that's 1.5g you've ALREADY been shorted (possibly, again none of this can be confirmed seeing as u dont have a scale).

now go to ebay and search Digital Pocket Shipping Postal Scale oz 500 x 0.1 Gram

1.99+5.99 shipping. thats $8. assuming you bought the g bag for 10, which would make .1g=$1, you already paid for 2 scales and u don't even know it...

my first suggestion, buy a scale and weigh it every time u get it if u dont trust your dealer. to be honest, unless its weighed out in front of me i dont trust anyone when dealing with profit (and shouldnt)

my second suggestion, start buying you bud in larger quantities (1/16 at least if not 1/8th). have you ever weighed out multiple smaller baggies before then combined them? most dealers will weigh on the side of caution, meaning that 1g (assuming an honest dealer, see suggestion #1 for my opinion on honest dealers) will most likely be .9g...99% of the time. they'll weigh it up to .9g then add tiny buds till it hits 1g. its not really 1g, its .951g just enough to kick the scale to round up. take that even .1g every time and times by 7 (1/4oz) and you're .7g short on a bigger bag without the dealer even shorting u yet.

once u realize, you'll change your buying habits. you'll forget about the $10 u could have spent on another g bag when u pick up that scale and see how much it saves u down the road from continually buying short bags.
