Is there an upper limit to how much codeine your body can process in a day?

Assuming you had a really high tolerance and such, I’ve just ever heard of anyone taking one gram+ does of codeine to get high and that seems strange.

inwas thinking of going backpacking in Europe and was wondering if I could subsitute Tylenol 1s for my daily dose of opiates, after a cwe of course.
 
The "Basic Drug Discussion" forum is a human resources arena? Maybe the codeine can calm down Dougie Doozer, the rabble-rouser in all those sexual harassment training videos. He shoved his dirty finger in everybody's tuna can while shouting racial slurs and potty words in the middle of the dang library! Those videos are all the same.

Codeine can only do so much, you will die of an overdose before get too high no matter how much you take. There is a limit to pain relief of opiods, or my guess, for recreational purposes. Opiods have limits to what they can do. Codeine is relatively weak and has like all opiods, a limit as what it can do. Taking more only wastes it and could cause an overdose.
Think of it this way, it is not like alcohol.
Codeine is not the beer of opiods. Meaning you chug enough beer you could get as drunk as if you had a 1/5 of Vodka ( I no longer drink, can't) it would take longer and require more, but it will still fuck you up.
Codeine like all opiods has a limit to pain relief or recreational use. You can only get so fucked up on codeine. The rest wasted and possible bodily damage and an overdose.
The don't give codeine to people dying of cancer. Too weak, and it has limit as too how much pain relief. You would kill the person before adequate pain relief, which it cannot provide.
Like I said, it ain't like alcohol. There is a limit and no matter how much you take, it will not go past that point, it can't. But it can kill you or do serious damage. Please don't be stupid and think that taking a shitload will really fuck you up.

Why can’t i just take an equivalent dose to my daily methadone dose? im not trying to get high, I just want to take enough to get through the day.

can you explain your answer from a neuropharmacological perspective?

codeine Is metabolized into morphine, and morphines pretty strong, so is there a limited supply of the enzyme that breaks it down or what?
 
Oh shit, methadone is a lot stronger than plain codeine.
Unfortunately, this college dropout, never learned anything about neuroscience and also unfortunately the person who explained it to me; who had a degree in chemistry before going to med school and becoming a surgeon is dead.
He had pain issues and knew about this stuff, but like I said he is dead.
Hopefully someone here can better explain: yeah there are several on here who seem very knowledgeable and educated on the issue.
All I know is the dumbed down reason I was given about opiods and certain aspects about them.
Methadone is a great pain killer, but it is highly addictive, very strong, hard to get off; of and doesn't pack a buzz.
I have managed to rack up 5 points and a two day no point timeout. I joined less than 6 months before racking up all my bans, so I am trying to be good and not give you any bad ideas.
Then again; I've seen your posts, you don't any help on that.😂 No offense bro. All I can say is that different opiods have different properties, like that methadone you are on. That is a schedule 2, same as cocaine( it actually has a very, very, limited medical use, and getting medical coke, is impossible.) Besides it is in a liquid form and only used in certain delicate surgeries, where blood vessels need to be constricted.)
If you were able to get as much methadone as you wanted, you would die before you got high, am I right?
The exact reason I am not sure, but I don't think the codeine could keep the methadone withdrawals away. Let alone provide any recreational use.
Codeine in hugh quantities might kill you. Having a high( no pun intended) tolerance will only make it worse. Codeine has it's limits, like all opiods. You will probably overdose and possibly die. Also codeine is hard on the body and can cause a lot of damage if abused.
 
Some opioids have a ceiling effect (a limit to how much will work) but I'm not sure about codeine.
The equivalent to what you're taking now should keep you from getting to sick.
The T1's in Canada also have caffeine, not sure about Europe though. But ya do a cwe
 
Codeine is adviced to not take more than 240-400mg, after 240 itching should be noticable, high doses can cause seizures, trouble with breathing,anaphylactic shock..not sure if body can convert more than 400mg into active metabolites, with tramadol which Is same mechanism,u can (if u can at All) metabolize even 2000mg but side effects are little bit worse than codeines, u need to have benzos in bloodstream because flood of serotonine, noradrenaline, dopamine, endorphine caused by tram cause dangerous overriding of CNS = seizures= something u do not want.

Also, my pain doctor told me that every single opiate and opioid cause seizures sometimes. But mostly tram,codeine,petidine,oxy and synthetic ones....strange why they almost never use morphine and dihydrocodeine ( very good i am prescribed this for years Now) but i know many people who got tram script or tram addicts, some of them Are death. One boy in this town died after 500mg due to cardiac arrest ! I Can take 750mg in one dose and be ok with 5+mg alprazolam or seize hard.

I think I didn't put it in terms of fighting off a withdrawal, I know that even though methadone doesn't get you high, it has very strong pain killing properties.
The medical problem, according to the person I described in an earlier post, is Methadone, becomes physically addictive fast. Also it is a bitch to get off, of. It is strong enough to fight heroin withdrawal but no high. I am not sure that codeine, even though an opiod, would be able to fight off Methadone withdrawals, and I may not know you, but I don't want you to die trying to not be dope sick. Besides, you would probably have to dose several times a day. CWE might be rather time consuming and frustrating while on vacation.
Can you get a supply of methadone too last you? Second, is it legal in the countries you wish to visit?
 
Damn, this is basically how I thought it was, but I wasn’t sure, I guess id have to get methadone to last me then, or wean off

That really depends on the dose. I was given 80mg methadone per day in a private rehab to stave off heroin withdrawal, but it was too little to hold me. They bumped me all the way up to 140mg per day and I was high as a kite. I then did a 2 month rapid taper of the methadone and was clean of all opiates.

Actually, he's hoping he's a high metabolizer and converts the max 15% of codeine to morphine.

So you're kind of wrong with respect to codeine. The magic is from the morphine and some people can metabolize 15% of the dose of codeine to morphine.

They're trying to calculate the maximum morphine equivalent.

The issue is that not everyone metabolizes codeine the same way.

Some people barely metabolize it (into morphine) and some metabolize 15% into morphine.

So not only did you take 400 mg of codeine but now there's 60 mg of morphine floating around in your body.

And that boys & girls is why some people really like codeine and some people say it's ass.

I remember when I was on my first stint with Methadone they started me on 20mls (and I had to be clean for a week before they'd entertain that), and of course because that wasn't working for me they bumped it up to 60mls, the 90mls - which had me falling asleep left right and centre. The worst thing about that was that after I'd wake up I'd be sick. The sweats, dry mouth and throat, chills...ugh.

My last time, and last time ever, I refused to go over 20mls and I was on and off within 3 months. Finished with Methadone. I know it works for a lot of people but not so much with me.

Prescribing low dose morphine or dihydrocodeine would be easyer, they do not depend on active metabolites much.
