Is rolling bad for new piercings..?

I heard this rumor on the street, and then someone said it here on the tongue piercing topic... Is this true?

ummm... when your rolling you might be a little more rough on your new piercing than you normally would. My toung piercing still gets sore after I roll because I play with it alot during. if its a new piercing id say its sore anyway so being rough on it wouldnt be good. Keep a binky in your mouth or just be careful you should be fine. another thing to keep in mind is not to share anything oraly with someone.(binky, candy ,water, etc.) germs are bad for new piercings.

I think it's probably not good to roll within a week of having your tongue pierced cause with all your jaw activities while rolling it would make your tongue swell even more *ouch*. Just a thought. Peace

i have my tongue pierced twice and the last Rave i went to I rolled extra hard! my tongue still hurts from all the playing I did with it. I ended up chewing through two mouth glowstix. (if you don't know, when they break, they taste like ass!) I am just now not swollen up so much. be careful, bring a pacifier!

A piercer I once met says that he specifically tells tongue piercees to stay away from ecstasy, LSD, etc. until the piercing is healed, because they're less likely to be careful with it.

Okay, um. Heh. Obviously gnawing and clenching on yer new piercing is bad for it.

I'd just heard a rumor that MDMA was chemically bad for new piercings, like caused swelling, slowed healing, ect... It seemed ridiculous to me honestly, so I thought I'd bounce it off bluelight and see if they would write it off as a myth.

I rolled about a week and a half after getting my tongue pierced and it healed fine, just slighty red around the hole because of all the chewing etc. Its actually been my best piercing to heal, I have had alot of trouble healing my cartlidge piercings, but probably more to do with sleeping on them than rolling

hmm what about lip rings? anything i should worry about once i get it done? like anythign not to do for how long after ive gotten it done?
