Hey guys,

I am looking to buy some phenibut from overseas in bulk but am concerned that it may be picked up by customs as a analogue of GHB. (In Australia)

I have attached both chemical structures for those to make it easy.

I will be stoked with some assistance :D

Cheers

Well, I'm not even close to being a qualified chemist of any sort, but I'm almost positive that the answer is no. There method of action is similar (I think) as they're both GABA-ergic-ey (I believe), but I would say nay on the derivative.

(How's that for solid response to inspire confidence? ;) )

The only thing I CAN tell you for sure is that mine crossed the Canada-U.S. border with no problem, and they are not generally known for giving the benefit of the doubt.

SO! In conclusion! I think you'll be fine :)

Sorry i meant to say "analogue". I dont know whether there is any difference with "derivative"

We don't do legal discussion here

It could be argued in a strict sense that phenibut is a derivative or analogue of GABA. It does not, however, share pharmacological actions with GHB, nor is it chemically very similar.

Both have action at the GABA B receptor that's for sure, but I'm not sure whether it would be considered an analogue. To keep this away from issues of legality, lets just stick to the original question, I'll change the title to analogue.
