Is Net Neutrality doomed?

I dated a guy who was one of the people who designed and tested the monitors for comcast. He died, so I wish he was around to see what he was a part of. I don't think he would be happy about it.

Other companies could capitalize on this and host proxies for torrents. If I wasn't in America, I'd be working on that. FAST proxies and not something that would extend my download time by days.

I guess you can do that now by buying a VPS in another country, but that is such a pita.

and how will they trace you when you use something like k-proxy...everyone is just going to go to wifi hotspots....

Or torrenting peer-to-peer? Who will have the power to snoff and intercept your packets, and what does this mean for privacy?

It appears to mean (imo) that all the entertainment companies are tired of going after every user and decided to strong arm the ISPs to do something or else get taken to court as accessories or some other easy money charge in civil court. Most of us could probably see this coming though but a little surprised it took so long.

No need to strongarm. The ISPs and the media companies are the same damn thing.

I don't think net neutrality is doomed in terms of information still being free. What I think is at threat is access to the internet. The media conglomerates know they can't completely control content like pirating, so instead they are lobbying the ISPs to create a two-tier bandwidth system.

I really hate multi-national corporate economy. It's destroying everything that is good in the world.
