This is an article by Ron Unger. He is part of a very different way of thinking within the mental health community and one which I admire. I'd love to hear others thoughts or experiences with this view. Basically I like to think of it in the same way we try to reframe the notion of "bad" trips as good teachers. Madness itself, even extreme forms, may have something profound to be gleaned if allowed to unfold in safe settings.
