Okay so i called a pain Wmanagment doctor, and they told me they wouldnt accept nme as a patient cuz my inruancd wont pay for it, and even if they prescribe any meds, (injections, opiates, anything) they wouldnt be able to contact my insurance so i wouldnt be able to pay for it.t

Is this true? I got one sdoctor in the area who accepts ,one doctor who accepts my insurance but he needs to my dr to send /fax my xrays, office visit notes, and current medications. Then he has to review it, god knows how long that will take.

Im on ssi disability for bipolar/depression/panic attacks . I only get $710 a month. I have a form of medicade .

Is all pain managment like this? If i go to one not covered by insurance , my insurance wont pay for the medication? Not even generics? No injections? Im just fucked?

What do poor ppl do?

I got legit lumbar problems, degenrating knees,a healed broken leg.(it was broken in tibula and fibula seven places) i was hit by a car in october as pedistrian. )

My orthopedic doctor just dropped me b4 physical therapy. No weaning me off percocet. Just gave me last script and said deal with it?

I dont have a doctor period now. Why am i being punished? I dont see how drs can just fucking drop u. Or how im suppose to "deal with it"

Since I'm from Canada I no nothing about health insurance problems, but I wish you the best.
You're in a shitty situation, and I hope you can get help

This makes me relieved that i have the NHS which cant drop you, even if the docs want.
Like the above poster, i cant offer any solid advice on this other then to keep at it and not give up. The doctor that accepts your insurance but wants to see x-raysand notes seems like your best bet. I would get on with getting him that info as quick as possible.
The pain management megathread will have some people around who will be able to offer better advice as this is a subject that comes up often there.
Other then that all i can offer are my sympathies and i hope you manage to get this sorted asap. :-)

the only problem i see u having in the USA, is fillings ur pain management drugs at the pharmacy, a lot of times they need prior authorization from the prescribing doctor, which is SO FRUSTERATING, however u can always pay cash at the pharmacy. you can always pay cash instead of insurance for office visits for pain management. alot of that goes on in the USA, i live in NY, and ALOT of pain management clinics are cash only, they dont accept insurance, however at the pharmacy your insurance WILL cover the drug if its on ur formulary, and sometimes after going 2 the pharmacy stupid as it sounds, they need to contact ur doctor to fax a prior approval to ur health insurance to cover the cash cost of the drug, so u only have to pay a co-pay, if all else fails, u can pay cash for all. it can be costly. 75% of suboxone clinics in my area are only cash doctors, $200 initial visit, and $100 every month, but insurance will pay for the RX drugs, its just the doctors being money hungry and not wanting to let u use ur insurance to cover office visits...its a real grey area...this whole situation

if ur having all these problems, just go to a pain management clinic that only accepts cash as payment for office visits, and bring all ur MRI's and stuff, as far as the pharmacy goes, if u got health insurance u will get coverage at some point if there is a delay, if not like i said u can pay cash, RX opiates are fairly cheap anyway

^ sorry to bump. yeah depending on what type of health insurance u have is also a problem, some practices dont accept certain types of health insurances. my dad has this issue with his Medicare and workers comp issues..and technically a doctor can stop medications, whether ur taking 8mg of xanax a day, and a shitload of opiates daily RXed, because they can reccommend you go to "inpatient detox" immediately after discharge from practice, its a loophole, but its legit, doctors have done it to me, and i seen it done to people, and they were referred to go to "detox" to take care of withdrawl in a supervised setting. its a messed up world, well each doctor is his own person, and some doctors are too much of a people pleaser to patients, some are too much of assholes to patients and wont help them, , and go by the book by a T..

DUDE I am sorry but this is like your 5th thread on the same topic...., we STILL cannot do much to help you out with this sort of thing, I have told you this on multiple occasions and I left your threads open but this is too much. There is a limit for how many threads per day a person can post here before it begins to feel like spam, especially when it's all questions about your pain management. I am sorry if I'm coming off as cold or harsh but you've had multiple warnings. Stop making more than one thread per day, let alone on the same topic.
