Hi! I have been on 30mg of Vicodin a day for about two years . I have chronic pain and took the minimal dose. Well long story short I am on day 6 of withdrawal. I quit taking them cold turkey because I felt like I was beginning to have to take more and more to get any relief. So the withdrawals have not been out of the park bad , but I have slept maybe 5 hours in 5 nights!! I'm going to go crazy seriously it's so awful! The restless legs have stopped now I just can't fall asleep. So my question is when do I start regaining a normal sleep again???

Hey there!
Insomnia lasts a little bit.
I would suggest trying to take Melatonin before bed, It's an all natural supplement.
It does get better over time.
You're doing great!
Much love to you.

I am trying to come off hydrocodone right now as well, I was recreationally using it for about half a year and I for the first 2 nights I didn't sleep much at all, as wowomg said, I am trying to use Melatonin and Benadryl but I am up till about 1 am every night it is day 3 for me. I would just try doing something like a bath before bed or something to ease your mind, I wouldn't mess with any addicting sleep aids like Lunesta or Ambien because you may become dependent on those.

So my question is when do I start regaining a normal sleep again???

It depends, hows your diet and are you getting exercise?

If your diet is inadequate and you're not exercising regularly it could take a few months to regain a normal sleep pattern.

Like the poster above me said, get yourself some melatonin, perhaps even some diphenhydramine(aka zQuil). Also, it wouldn't hurt to supplement with a multi vitamin. Drink plenty of water and eat healthy, e.g. fruits & veggies and try to get some exercise.

Good Luck to you sir.
