How valid do you guys think all of this is? I'm going to put it all in a "as a matter of fact" sort of tone, because it all seems true.
A study was done on the growth of muscle mass. The subjects had the muscle tone of their fingers measured - they were then were divided into two groups. One group had to practice finger exercises and finger weight-lifting for a set amount of time every other day; the other group didn't do any exercises, but instead was merely told to "imagine" doing finger exercises.
After a few weeks, they re-measured the subject's finger muscle mass, and both both groups had a significant increase in muscle mass. The group that just "thought about doing exercises" had nearly the same amount of muscle growth as the group that actually did the exercises.
It is well-known that stress causes the release of cortisol (I saw it on an informercial), which causes the body to store fat and lower its testosterone level.
It also seen that males who have gone through a negative transition in social status (getting fired, wife/girlfriend breaking up with you, losing in a competition, etc) will result in a decreased level of testosterone.
BUT testosterone levels can actually be raised from things like physical activities, positive social feedback, and even things as simple as being motivated for something - or having a proactive mindset.
Even things like penis growth, body hair, bone growth, muscle growth, and deepening of the voice can all result merely from thinking about them.
Here are some lifestyle things that I think help keep testosterone levels high:
1. Fuck a lot. Think about sex a lot. Not the whole "Oh I feel sorry for myself, why can't I fuck hot chicks like those?" type of bullshit, but the "daydreaming in class about wild orgies and imagining what the hot girls in class would look like with your dick in them -- then walking out of class all bent over and awkward-looking because you're trying to hide your erection." Studies show that having sex ATLEAST once a week is almost vital for keeping your testosterone levels high.
2. Don't schedule your life like its on autopilot. Chaos and unpredictability are something you need to have in life, otherwise your body has no reason to be strong. When you often have to adapt to the unknown, your body prepares itself for challenges.
3. Have a set of beliefs that you've gained through personal experience and while thinking for yourself. When you're your own master, your body and mind do not have to handicap themselves to prevent upsetting your so calld "superiors". You don't have to wait for other people to encourage your success in order to activate success, you can just pursue your own success.
4. Drugs. All the ridiculous shit in life doesn't feel like a burden anymore once you're able to find meaning within experience itself.
5. Become an expert or a connoisseur at something useful/awesome/badass.
6. Learn how to live off the land and be self-reliant just in case something like the collapse of civilization happens. This way, you won't feel like you NEED society. You won't feel bound to society. And this gives you the upper-hand whenever you are bartering/haggling with other people.
7. Eat broccoli and other shit like that. Broccoli and cauliflower lower your body's estrogen levels, and in effect caus your body's testosterone levels to rise.
8. Work out.
9. Sleep adequately.
10. Don't let some woman suck the life out of you. When you're with a girl, act like you don't need her, like you're just letting her hang around... those fucking bitches love being treated like shit.
What do you guys think? How valid do you think all of that is? Mind over matter pretty much. Have some personal accountability.
