Hey all,
Im here on behalf of a friend who is struggling to get clean. His problem is he has many things going on in his life right now that he cannot go through withdrawals and get everything done. He wants off but cannot afford to have the life sucked out of him for a week. He has tried using suboxone strips twice before but the withdrawals from his jump-off dose led him back to oxycodone. he has been using 90mg of oxycodone daily for 2 weeks now he has now gone without yesterday and this is his second day clean. but he cannot handle these withdrawal symptoms and function with his daily tasks. He does not want to go on suboxone for a long time but he needs to be functional. Perhaps this is too much to ask and ofcourse it is doubtful he will be able to escape this without paying piper. Does anyone have a plan that he could do to get through this in a way that will allow him to function with his busy life. He is tired of being a slave to this and wants to live sober and clean. Any ideas on advice I could give him?

I sent you a long message, but i don't think you can read it until you reach a certain amount of posts.
Has your friend tried cutting down the amount he uses in a day?
Perhaps you can help him set up a goal for cutting back each day or week, maybe after a while he will feel up to making the switch to subs again.
Does your friend have any free time??
You need to inform him of the importance of seeking help and support from other people..
The best thing I can think of is helping him find some local NA meetings that you can maybe take him to..
I know the thought of attending meetings with strangers does not always seem ideal, but it is an underrated part of recovering <3
He needs to talk to people who are fighting the same battle as him.. At meetings he will find these people. He will also find people who have successfully battled addictions who can give him good advice <3

is there a suboxone taper one could suggest that would be easy to achieve. Remember he has done this before twice but relapsed from sub withdrawals. however it has been almost 3 weeks since his last attempt at a sub taper so could he still try it again without getting hooked on sub. he has never taken sub regularly for more that two weeks, ever.
