American elektro-shaman, Woody McBride, aka DJ ESP, rocks the world with his unique style of tribal techno, acid house, elektro, ambidelics, hardtek and authentic old school minimal electronic music.
Since 1988 ESP has been expanding minds with 100's of releases and 1000's of performances.
He has worn the hat of promoter, producer, mentor, spiritual guide, dj... the list goes on and on.
In short, McBride is a man of many talents and shows no signs of slowing down his incredible energy that he infuses into electronic music culture.
With releases on several other labels besides his own label Communiqué Records USA, ESP has had several small-hit records this past year. One in particular titled "Religious Experience" on Dave Clarke's White Noise Records.
ESP is involved with two major tours this summer. Thee Hammer of Thee Gods tour with DJs, Hyperactive & Terry Mullan. The three will be touring the US through summer '09.
McBride is also launching his solo tour this summer promoting his forthcoming album titled, "I was abducted by aliens and I have this to report". The album is a collection of the best tracks and remixes that he has recorded in the past two years.

Being a fan of music sometimes means nothing else matters. This is true to life for Chicago’s Terry Mullan. His ears were alert at the right time, if house music is your thing. Right smack in the middle of the blossoming house development of Chicago during the mid 80's, at an early age, Terry was already in tune with what was actually happening.
Although his roots began in hip-hop, Terry found himself smack in the middle of the Chicago house explosion. House and Disco were styles of music that were entirely new to Terry, but the match was struck. Faithfully listening and recording the then burgeoning Chicago airwaves, his nights during middle school were filled with the finest in Chicago house. DJ's like Farley “Jackmaster” funk, Fast Eddie, Armando, & Mike "Hitman" Wilson, via 102.7 WBMX. His mix tape collection fast became a fixture within his bedroom, constantly taping the shows, studying them. Some called it simulcasted education.
Soon after the house scene was all grown up, entered the acid house sound. Here Terry really found solace. It was that added flavor he was waiting for, something new, twisted, and forward. Now all the elements were coming together. And with the addition of the Detroit sound, this was it, three different languages, disco, house, and techno. They could all translate the same message together or apart from one another. This is how Terry is like a translator. With his fluent style, these languages reflect his DJ’ing as well as the tracks he's now composing, which is his way of furthering the evolution of dance music.
For the future, Terry is going beyond just knowing his machines. This sound is put to the test on his releases on Robsoul, Definitive, Control, Funk’d, CHC, Aciiieeed and on his own imprint Catalyst Recordings. Through his label he has released projects for the likes of DJ Sneak, Ian Pooley, Tyree Cooper, Halo Varga, Mazi, Dan Curtin, Bryan Zentz, Angel Alanis, & TJR, as well as for himself under the monikers, Acid OG’s, Speakerphreaker, Tone Broke, and as Serotonin Project on Richie Hawtin and John Acquaviva’s former imprint Definitive which featured Terry’s track “Sidewinder” on the Chemical Brothers “Brother’s Gonna’ Work It Out” Mix CD. Additionally, Terry gained notoriety for his records under the alias Speakerphreaker which includes the largely successful “Products Of Our Environment” EP on Catalyst which was featured on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1 in the UK & "La Nina/Nickel Bag Da Funk" EP on Smile which was licensed to several top DJ mix compilations. (Terry Mullan & Halo Varga collaboration).
Terry’s DJ’ing, label, and trax have earned him a reputation that extends worldwide. Never one to follow the masses, he borrowed from each genre to create what we all know to be Terry's sound, putting a bad ass twist on an otherwise conservative house scene.

I have a very similar story as many other dj/producers from Chicago have. I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago like a lot of the other creators and pioneers of Chicago House Music, but over time I'd become more fascinated with the techier side of our music there at the time including acid house. The house parties we went to back in the day had a different meaning than anywhere else in the world. I think you can figure it out. Just ask anyone back in Chicago back int he early 80's and they'll break it down for you. The radio programming (yes folks, commercial radio, but anything but commercial), the music production, the record stores, and the parties at that time were unparalleled. I started buying records back in the day right at the beginning when Chicago House Music was born at Imports, Loop Records, and Gramaphone hopping from store to store trying to score some white labels,and sometimes buying them straight out of people's trunks.
From Jr.High straight into College I was consumed with all facets of house music at that time. Jack, acid, etc. I was completely consumed and pre-occupied which following my third year in college I returned back to Chicago and the rest is history. I borrowed a friend's EPS sampler and 606 and started making music. More and more gear followed and the production increased. As records dropped gigs were plentiful. From corner to corner in the states my popularity and identity as an American DJ/Producer solidified. Having made it through 20+ releases on my first imprint Contact Records the coinciding releases on labels like Missile and Hybrid my demand in Europe soon followed.
In the late 90's I headed out west to California, opened Higher Source Records and Gear, started 4 Track Records, changed booking agencies and then decided to take a break. So after a long overdue break I've stepped back into rhythm and 4 Track Records is now in full motion.
