Psychedelics are quite popular in America today. Virtually every major business publication has positive articles about silicon valley's LSD microdosers who are boosting their productivity and their attitude with microdoses of LSD. Some psychedelic research chemicals are popular in certain youth subcultures, and that has been true for around 20 years now, and it's only getting bigger. MDMA is seen by the army as a potentially potent treatment for post-war PTSD. So far the effects are not putting anyone out of business, the American way is not falling apart. There is no media demonizing psychedelics like there were in the 60s. The attitudes are much different and it's becoming as much a part American culture as anything else.
