After quitting all psychoactive substances, I ended up with the problem that inspired me to start self medication in the first place. Lethargy. I've recently come to the conclusion that its a manifestation of depression. Long story short, I think taking ibogaine in a therapeutic setting will help me solve this problem by resolving whatever psychological (in my case, I think the underlying cause is psychological) issues which are causing the depression. On top of that, it will help cure these benzo PAWS and bring me back to baseline. Has anyone here gone to an ibogaine clinic in Europe? I know that the Netherlands is an advanced country in areas like this (and most areas for that matter) so I'm looking into finding a clinic there but I don't mind what country I go to as long as I can get there cheaply and easily. I live in Ireland so the Netherlands is easy for me to get to. To UK would be ideal. I contacted an ibogaine clinic in the UK but they never responded.

It's sad that ibogaine clinics are very hard to get to in the states. I just had an in law pass during an iboga session at his house. From what I understand his GP was actually at his house during the session and he died under his watch. I'm not sure on the exact cause but I'll post it when I find out. It was in

Last I heard, there was research claiming a 1% chance of fatality from ibogaine treatments - and that's based on actual clinical data and clinic results from St Kitt's et cetera, so the risks of hiring a freelance ibogaine practitioner could well be very high. I've given thought to it in the past, but am curently on a benzo taper, so it's not an option till I've been clean for a while: and though I have similar underlying issues, I'm put off by the strong stimulant properties of ibogaine: might be something to think about, given your drugs of choice. I suspect it's only really worth the risk at a proper, full-blown clinic in the Carribean - and they're very expensive, outside of flight costs. Sorry for the negative thrust of this post, but ibogaine's serious and risky stuff: I'd consider any and all alternative therapies first, rather than a cure that can kill. It's also not a magic bullet for psychological addiction, from all I've read and heard: primarily useful for a kind of neurochemical 'reset' that can obliterate opiate withdrawals, I don't think it's necessarily going to help long-term with underlying issues/triggers. Be very, very careful if you go down the iboga route (no pun intended): you need to be under constant medical supervision during any such treatment, and even then, you may be taking your life in your hands. Whatever you find/decide, good luck with it.

A plane ticket to Canada shouldn't be too expensive though. Besides that, Mexico and other Central/South American countries are an option. I just read about a US doctor who set his clinic up in Belize. Read that here:

However, European countries are small so to get to another country with different laws, you don't have to go far. This bullshit needs to be sorted out, ibogaine needs to be accepted by society for what it is and make it legally obtainable for treatment centres in all countries.

Thats a risk I have no problem taking. 1% is nothing. Even a 10% risk wouldn't bother me too much. On top of that, its unknown what variables are involved in ibogaine related deaths i.e. drug interactions. Yeah, you best get off the benzo completely and wait until the acute withdrawal is over because I read that taking ibogaine during acute benzo withdrawal can easily be fatal. I've heard reports from people that ibogaine cured their benzo PAWS. I've heard similar reports about ayahuasca. High doses of ibogaine do help cure psychological addiction because it helps you resolve deep seeded psychological issues which are partially responsible for your addictive personality. It also makes you feel good while sober so you have less reason to take drugs. I've been reading threads on eboka.info and the experienced people there always seem to recommend "boosters" which are lower (lower than a flood dose, which is a full on psychedelic dose) to counteract cravings. I think treatment centers in Canada should be fine because most people who have gone the iboga route, they didn't do it in a clinical setting, they just did it with a competent sitter. Many people just do it at home but I've read horror stories on eboka.info about what happens when things go wrong. Well, I'm exaggerating a bit there, the worst ones I read was one person getting severe anxiety and having to check themselves into the ER (where they administered Ativan) and another guy who felt like complete crap for the whole thing when he took it during methadone withdrawal.

I'm sorry my post got cut off while I was typing it up on my phone. I don't believe ibogaine to be dangerous when done by people who have mastered the art of it. I've done plenty of research on it in the past and have spoken to 2 people who were very successful with it. 1 of them had to do a second round about 8 months later which can be a common occurrence. I strongly believe that my in law should have taken a trip to professionals instead of some average doctor. The mortality rate is what I consider way below where an average medicine would be. Bad reactions and misuse of just about anything can be fatal.

With all that out of the way I think it's one of those things you need to be mentally open to. If you go in with a negative mindset you might not get the result you were searching for. It's also very expensive, but if you have the cash, an open mind and will do anything to rid yourself of addiction I would say its worth a shot
