My question is this: what interactions would be expected between simultaneous or concomitant administration of ibogaine hydrochloride and a benzodiazepine, either alprazolam or clonazepam, in vivo.

I ask because I am getting ready to try once again to shake buprenorphine. It has been an extremely hard process and I've found that my body/mind has become so "dependent" and "accustomed" to the drug that I feel as though I am missing a figurative, psychological limb when I am off of subutex. I was started at doses exceeding 16 milligrams a day and often 32 milligrams a day for at least a half dozen years, give or take. Thus, I am also interested in the buprenorphine/ibogaine interactions on several different levels, but I think I will leave that for another post.

If anyone here is familiar with some of the pharmacological aspects of ibogaine hydrochloride (especially those with knowledge of its administration also) I would surely appreciate a private message as I have a few more questions and I know not everyone is as familiar with this drug due to the dearth of good scientific data but again, if there are those that feel relatively comfortable with this chemical as far as some very basic discussion like the above query please feel free to PM me.

Thank you much for your time.

From the top of my head I can't think of direct pharmacological interaction, but indirectly the benzo's might exacerbate confusion, memory problems, ataxia and anaesthetic qualities. I'd also worry that they might interfere negatively with the dreams/visions the ibogaine produces and from a therapeutic standpoint it is very recommended against using other drugs / medications when using a holistic-type treatment like this.

Are you dependent on benzo's? Or are you just anticipating that it may be a rough experience for which you would like some cushioning?
If it is the former then I'm not sure what to tell you other than wean off them, taper and quit. I don't mean to make it sound easy, I have been in a clinical setting to do that myself.
But if it is the latter then I think that it is part of the whole point that you just ride out the entire experience, similarly it is best to taper/quit opioids as much as possible before the iboga because it is supposed to support the whole resetting action better. Not sure if that would especially true for bupe which is a mixed agonist/antagonist unless I'm mistaken. Xorkoth from PD did all of that not too long ago: he was contemplating all of it and had success tapering/quitting opiates more than a week before the iboga IIRC.

I'd help you further, but my knowledge of iboga and ibogaine doesn't really go that deep, especially compared to that of some other NSPers here. So better to PM with them.

Unfortunately, I'm heavily dependent on them - really I have a 'double habit', opiates + benzos, both in very large doses (bupe 16mg daily; klonopin/xanax 6-10 mg often to get high) and for a long time and I have tried to quit using a multitude of treatment modalities that have all failed (upward of 30 tx centers) and I am still trying to quit. At this point I'm off the bupe, switched to agonist therapy as the general consensus now is that being off bupe for 2-3 months is necessary for one to receive the full "resetting" that proponents of ibogaine say occurs.

In fact, I've already done one ibogaine treatment and it seemed to work but in a very difficult way, not a sobriety that I was able to sustain for more than a week, and that is exactly what one of the providers predicted: if you're on buprenorphine get ready to fall off a figurative "cliff" (for lack of a better term) after about a week of reduced withdrawals and some resetting which is exactly what happened. This time, I NEED NEED NEED this to work - it's difficult to overstate how long and how hard I have worked to kick opiates and benzos and how difficult the process has been but let me just suffice it to say that this has been the hardest thing I have ever done, hence me retrying ibogaine again and changing one of the variables.

What if it turns out I can't titrate off a small dose of klonopin before the ibogaine administration? (obviously I am assuming the provider will have answers of their own but I am trying to get as much info independently as I possibly can)

Any and all knowledge or advice here is very much appreciated.

Not sure.about.your qiestion
But I have been trying to get off suboxone fir years.and I have been looking into iboga to help..only thing is I dnt have money and don't even know where.to start if I were to go for an iboga treatment.

Any advice

Congratulations for the strides you've made so far, they are huge! I really just wanted to say I am so impressed by your insight and determination to keep going! Although I'm familiar with these types of medications, Im not familiar with doses this high and unfortunately don't have much to offer in that regard. But I did want to say Good Luck and Keep Going! =D
