I want to discover Bollywood. Can anyone help me?

Hi there.

Post title says it all really.....

I love movies - all sorts: highbrow, lowbrow, comedies, thrillers.......essentially anything well-made and crafted and acted with love and dedication - and basically know nothing at all about Bollywood movies and am very ashamed and wish to right this wrong. But I especially enjoy thrillers.

So if anyone reading this can point me in the right direction towards respected directors in Bollywood; well-regarded Bollywood movies; highly respected Bollywood actors/actresses I would be most grateful.

I use IMDB on a regular basis so links to IMDB and/or Wikipedia would be particularly appreciated.

FYI, original title of the work (at least the book) was far less PC.
