Hey guys, I think i ate a bad batch of mushrooms, we went and picked them instead of going through the normal guy, anyway they did nothing...

so does this mean i will die now?

what should i do???

For the love of god, call a fucking ambulence. Don't be embarressed, or think about the consequences of getting caught - better that than dead.

Hopefully this post isn't too late, or even more hopefully the mushies weren't actually toxic.

Thats the thing, i don't feel sick at all, but they looked the same as the ones we normally get. So i dunno, maybe i'll just wait it out and see what happens.

What did they look like??
Did they go blue?
If they had a annualar ring under the cap around the stem I'd seek medical attention. Any galerinas that are toxic contain Amanita Toxins, you'll feel fine for 1-5 days then the toxins bust through your liver and kindneys and you'll either die or need a liver transplant and have permenant organ damage. I only say this not to scare you but some of the closet look-alikes to the magic Mushies of Oz are galerinas. Chances are you should be fine, but look up poisonous mushies on the net and see if they look like the ones you ate.

I for one would not be wasting ANY time with this issue, go straight to the hospital/doctors at once.

No point taking a risk and searching the web for answers, get medical help now!

:) @ Technic

I think i'll be fine, i looked around on the net, and didn't find the ones i had, maybe they where just non-toxic mushrooms that didn't get u riped, but thats it for me and mushies, got a bit of a scare.

If you were lucky they were probably coprinus or some non-lethal/non-active paneaolus.

Hope you've learnt from this...don't be a fucking moron.

I'd still go see a doctor if I was you.

The thing that bothers me is that you said "they looked the same as the ones we usually get". FFS, sometimes I get SCARED when I see galerinas because of the similarity between them and P. Subaeruginosa.

Technic... Not exactly what I meant... I was interested in what treatment might be carried out at the hospital to combat toxic mushrooms. (Obviously it's too late for a stomach pump) :)

i second some others comments
galerinas kill people in australia every few years.
seriously be aware that the poisoning can take days to take effect.

all fungi can have slightly differing appearance from region to region.
a trip to the www.shroomery.com for you.

well i'm still alive :p

and feel fine, must had been some non-toxic ones.

well back to the normall way of getting mushies, sure it costs money, but atleast its safe.

and still cheaper then weed :)

i didn't really wanna goto the doctor and tell him i ate some mushies anyway :)

was dreading that more then anything else, see how this fucked up system makes us scared to seek help, i'm so fucking sick of these laws. I even got busted for weed the other day and i didn't even think i was in trouble, the cop was shocked that i didn't think much of it, but he let me off anyway. :)

Not always - the guy selling them to you might have picked a dodgy mushie as well. At least when you find them yourself you can do some research - if you get a bag of crushed up or dried mushies it's a lot harder to tell.

Perhaps if you wish to continue with mushies it would be worth spending the money buying a book with lots of photos to help, or doing a lot more research on the internet.

Glad to hear you're OK though, and yeah, it sure does suck how the system makes you feel scared enough to not want to seek medical help. If you feel sick at all over the next couple of days, please don't hesitate to go - tell the doctor someone slipped them to you or something if you must. But remember that police are there to bust you, doctors are there to help. And the doctor won't tell the cops (and even if they did the cops wouldn't bother doing anything). Your health is the most important thing you've got really, so don't lose it! :)

Jesus. I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT go picking mushrooms of ANY description unless you know EXACTLY what you are looking for. A good friend of mine ate the wrong mushrooms once and spent three weeks on dialysis. His friend that did it with him is STILL on dialysis four years later, he developed golden staf (sp?) on the heart and is on the bottom of the list for a kidney transplant because it was self-inflicted.

jesus, that's such a shame :(

See, it does happen people, don't get any fucking delusions of invincibility. NEVER eat a mushroom you are not 100% sure of.

Here are some pics of Psilocybe Subaeruginosa (the most likely candidate for recreational mushroom lovers in australia, courtesy of erowid). Once you see a few in the flesh, it becomes very easy to distinguish them, but take some mental images NOW. And ALWAYS sporeprint and ensure they bruise blue, even then, be sceptical, always better to be safe than sorry (very sorry).

...and to reiterate what eddie spageddi said, it can and does take up to three or four days for symptoms of gallerina poisoning to show up. My friend started feeling sick after the second day and was in hospital by the third day.

DO NOT RISK IT!
