Hi, so as the title says, it might be just me making conspiracies up.

So what happened is, I voluntarily when to the GP, told him about my heroin addiction and was send to a clinic.

I explained by smoking heroin habit and desire to quit.

I was put really fast on 8mg suboxone and they gave me like 300 some pills.

I was pretty honest with my doctors, apologies that I didn't follow their recommendation and told them I am opiod clean since the 16th of May.

They were quite upset and they actually asked 2 times if I don't want any more suboxone or at least methadone??? Like wtf guys.

They also asked me if I am okay with random drug tests which I agreed to since I didn't want to come off as offensive, but this is quite disrespectful in my opinion. I have been going there voluntarily, I have no police record whatsoever and I was transparent with my drug use and with no following their recommendations

Also what I found weird is that me coming from an almost a year of smoked heroin, they wanted to keep me on 8mg suboxone for 2-3 months, then taper it slowly over the course of 4-6 months. In my mind that's crazy. It s like giving a diabetic candies every day instead of cake(maybe not the best comparison)

I also asked for a quick taper when I first went to the clinic and they said : " This is not possible. First you need to be stable and later(months later) we can talk about a plan to get clean

I am also looking for any clinical studies/ statistics that prove that MAT actually works. And I mean get people off opiods. I saw a bunch of studies stating it s effectiveness by reducing the death rate compared with illicit opioids. But nothing about the rate of people joining and actually getting clean
