I'm not really sure what to say about all this. I know that for myself, I've gone through a lot of nasty shit in the course of my late teens and early twenties. But most of the shit has been associated with drugs rather than with raves. At this point in my life I've stopped doing drugs, but I haven't stopped raving. I love the scene, most of the people, the music, the vibe, the whole thing.
On another topic, I was digging around on the internet (can you imagine that?!?!) and found some rave oriented pages that I had never been to before. Some of what I found there was pretty disturbing... guys talking about how what we *really* need is more "bitches" at the parties... about how people really should be more respectful of group sex in the bathrooms... about how phat they are and that we should all "recognise" 'cause they're the bomb... about how some guy's crew is the shit, and everybody ought to respect his crew, cause he know mad DJ's... This is the shit that I still see, without the drugs, that offends me. For me, the rave scene isn't about getting laid, and it's definatly not about egomania... How much "respect" do you think that guy's "bitch" gets??? What about love??? As far as I'm concerned, it's about PLUR, and if that's not exciting enough, and that's not what you want, then stay home. I'm not talking about the new kids, that are still figuring out what the scene is all about, this is for the people who have been going for years and still don't get it... \/\/hatever
