This government has already announced its intention to COMPLETELY DISPENSE WITH THE ACMD when it comes to making drug laws.

utter lying pack of hypocrites and the focus of this article should be on WHY people are taking these drugs, the SOCIAL issues, fucking cunts.

This article seems to suggest that the government are totally unaware of the existence of RC benzos. Just wait until after April you dense fucks...

Also, less than 400 deaths involving (not necessarily due to) benzos, compared to how many 'involving' government approved alcohol and tobacco? Sometimes you just want to get hold of the cunts and slap them shouting 'wake up you fuckin retards!!'

yep will all be due to combinations with other drugs + overdoses + misuse + alcohol etc etc

I really can't be bothered reading an article, which is probably long, can someone just a brief overview of it, please?

Less than 400 deaths? That type of dialogue annoys me as it suggests than its nothing, "it was only 400 death. ONE DEATH zId one death too mamy since we're human beings with ones, families n so on. We're a "data set" it devalues the imortance of a single life n the impact the loss of that single life has on many. Sorry it's just I that's important reiterate as stat analysing can often fail to see the realism to a specific topic.

I don't think he was saying that those lives don't matter, or that the number isn't significant. I think he was just highlighting the hypocrisy of selective reporting and media being economical with the truth. It's like with these hover boards - people up in arms saying they should be banned and such, citing injuries sustained by users. It's a very small number so far, but still some cause for concern. How many people do you think have injured themselves, or died, using bicycles in the few months hover boards have existed?

Bang on, Don! Of course any number of deaths are too many - it's the hypocrisy that some deaths are deemed 'acceptable' when caused by substances that bring in a healthy revenue for the government, whereas others are not.

It is this kind of Pig -headed decision making that makes me certain my future is not in the UK. Democracy is a false concept. Progression is a lie.

Quite. And working night shifts increases your risk of cancer and other diseases...

Oh yea I agree. I wasn't criticising FUBAR but speaking geneally of how reports phrase things to manipulate the public into a different perception of reality in order to get their own way.

It's gonna be like the walking dead come April. Are you ready for the benzo apocalypse??

In all seriousness I feel for the people whose supply will be cut off . I know many peoples whose quality of life has significantly improved since being able to self medicate. The NHS must surely know of the storm that's coming?

The NHS is beginning to become aware of this problem, I can only hope the government realises that cutting funds to mental health and drug / A&E services is making the problem WORSE

The worst thing is there are a helluva lot of dense folk out there that agree with the Government's outlook on drugs, they don't seem to grasp the basic argument that you state above regarding booze and alcohol deaths. Even people that I consider to be usually intelligent somehow come across at utterly ignorant buffoons when it comes to a discussion on legalising or even decriminalising drugs. The War on Drugs may well be a lost battle for these idiots, but they certainly have won when it comes to brainwashing the majority of the public on the dangers of drugs.

^ quite true unfortunately.

maybe one of the mods could create a benzo taper guide thread so people can have a plan in place to taper down NOW ready for april.

If folk start tapering now I take it April will give them enough time, I know it obviously depends on how big a habit they have etc?

Just read the article. Didn't realise the bloke was a fellow paramedic. How sad. Getting to sleep after a night shift can be tough although I try to solve that issue by sleeping during nightshift :)

Seriously though I'm glad I'm off my diaz script... A couple of Sominex from Boots works just as well (for me anyway)... As well as some decent ear plugs to keep the daytime noises out.
