i've been really stressed lately, and have been taking .5mg klonopin every 2-4 days for the past month. i'm just wondering if i stop taking it completely will there be any sort of withdrawal? if not can i keep this up for a couple more weeks without any dependency issues forming?

Light nutrition and work out will do wonders
Avoiding fatty foods - I can swear my tolerance went down faster when I quit dairy
Drinking more to urinate more often
I heard smoking cigs helps with cleansing the system of the drug too, but only on certain benzos, can't remember if K is one

not sure what you think i'm asking? i'm not asking how to cleanse it out of my system, i'm asking if the dosage and rate of the klonopin i'm taking is safe and will not cause withdrawal when i decide to stop taking it. also i'm not sure how smoking cigarettes will get rid of a benzo faster? doesn't matter either way to me, i quit smoking a year ago and don't play on smoking again.

How many days in a row are you taking it once you do? You just take it a couple times a week? If that's the case than there's a good chance you won't have any withdrawals. It usually takes a lot more consecutive usage than that in the beginning before a habit is developed. You may end up with some rebound effects like slight anxiety and insomnia for a little bit but not actual withdrawals.

I predict rebound insomnia, anxiety, depression, possible mood swings, and all of this is taken granted that these will all be only to an extent unique only to yourself, as everyone has different body chemistry and while one may experience a severe WD, others might not, given any situation at any dosage with any drug.... I write this under the impression that the OP 1) is new to benzodiazepines, 2) and was non-tolerant at the time of their intro to habitual use of clonazepam, 3) did not do much / if any research about the drug they're putting in their body and only now are asking what could happen.

Better late than never though, benzodiazepine dependency is really serious shit that should not be taken as lightly as it I've seen it to be.

the longest i've had to take it multiple days in a row was 3. that was only one time. i'm not sure if i've ever felt rebound anxiety or insomnia after not taking it for a couple days, when would one usually start to feel it?

you are right with 1 & 2, but i did do quite a bit of research before i was prescribed klonopin since my brother had a bad addiction to xanax at one point and i did not want that to happen to me. it's just i'm a little worried since i was previously taking it about once a week, if that even with being able to going over a month without it. but this month has been really stressful and i have had to take it a lot more often.

It's extremely unlikely that you'll have any side effects at all from stopping usage given the pattern that you've been using the klonopin.

Something real to consider is that you may well be psychologically dependent already if you're on a forum asking about dependence. People's experience vary, but from my experience i was fine if i would take something when i needed it, not think about it for 4 days, then take it when i needed it again. The beginning of the slippery slope was when i could hold off taking it for those few days but it took effort and i was thinking about taking it a lot. It's good to be cautious, i'd say you're totally fine as you are now, but watch your thoughts to see if it starts to become a struggle to make it a few days or even how often the thought of popping a klonopin comes into your mind.

solution: cut dose you have been taking by half or two thirds for one or two weeks, do the same for another 2 weeks, then discontinue after four weeks or so. stick strictly to one dose every 12 hours, ie 8am 8pm.. classic benzo tapering method. if you abrutly stop you can have a grand mal seizure you don't want that!
