How to assist the body to repair injuries

^what about muscle repair. Wouldn't fasting just prolong it since you need the protein to rebuild muscle fibers?

whenever my back/legs/etc. are hurting (but not too badly) i generally switch my workouts to swimming, and try to get in some hot-tub/sauna time afterwards.

it's not going to fix a major problem, but it gives you a full-body, low-impact workout that works and stretches the hurt muscles without putting too much stress on them.

why be nervous for something that is tried and proven for hundreds of years? getting a needle jammed into your arm to inject vaccines is far more invasive to the body than the tiny little pricks (that you barely feel) from acupuncture. all the needles do is push tight up against some nerves, they dont penetrate subcutaneous tissue or anything.

i study martial arts for most of the waking hours of my life. ive used acupuncture to heal split skin, resolve digestive complications, eliminate complications which resulted in fatigue, to heal torn blood vessels (usually in fingers from impacts to hands), to heal torn cartilage and connective tissue (again, usually in my hands), and other various torn muscle/stressed nerve issues.

the real focus of acupuncture is to send all of the body's healing systems right to the affected area. this is usually combined with traditional herbal medication (TCM), medical massage, and breathing exercises. it accelerates the body's healing processes, and sends most of the vital nutrients needed to heal whatever the ailment is right to the exact area. one of my instructors tore his ACL a year ago, and thought he was going to be crippled. he left the acupuncturist's office walking, and was fighting in tournaments 8 months later. its an amazing healing science that uses every bodily system simultaneously - specifically the systems which allow electromagnetic energy to flow between cells and cellular superstructures (some people refer to this as "chi" ;) ).

every time ive left my acupuncturists office, ive felt a high that is not really describable. its certainly not like drugs, as its an extreme mental clarity, almost like my energy levels have returned to that of a 15 year old. like all things in life, the healing potential is only as good as your own willingness to heal, and the skill of the healer. some doctors are wiser than others.

in addition, i have not yet reached a level of study to include chi gong, but it is also another system designed to kick start the body's own self repair systems, and to accelerate healing.

I do not like needles. I have not received a vaccination in four years and counting. Was told I'm "way overdue" for... tuberculosis vaccine? and said no thanks. The nurse looked at me like I was nuts. I don't do needles; I've had bad experiences of being on a hospital bed for five days with the beeping of the (antibiotics, I'm guessing) machine as it dripped. Ick.

I guess I need more research on it. ... And a bigger paycheck. How much does your average treatment run?

Human growth hormone can speed healing by slowing down the rate at which proteins are broken down and excreted (catabolism); however, this is most pronounced in burns and other tissue injuries. I'm unsure how well it would work for problems that are orthopedic in nature.

^ Human Growth Hormone can also cause undesirable side effects. I would not recommend anyone take HGH. Long story made short: I know a woman who had to take HGH to remain pregnant with her first child. She developed a brain tumor which forever changed her personality. 8(
