How much food do you consume in one day?

The only time I really eat is at night, usually 9pm-ish. Sometimes I'll snack a little during the day, but rarely.
I know it's not healthy but I don't have an appetite.

>>I know, I know. By the broadest definition, it's animal flesh, so it's meat. But, stricter definitions only consider mammal flesh to be 'meat', while that of foul is 'poultry' and of fish, 'fish'. For me, the question of what to call it is irrelevant anyway. I know what it is and the label is unimportant.>>

Don't listen to me; I'm a vegan. :)

i have been trying to bulk up recently and my daily food intake is something along these lines......

4 slices of wholegrain bread
1 pot yogurt
1 bowl cereal
3 chicken breasts
250g pasta
100g full fat maynonnaise
1 tin tuna
2 pro-mass shakes (about 500 calories each)

i also have a rather large evening meal (i work part time as a chef so it stops me from the lure of picking at food all night which is really unhygenic)

I lost alot of weight at christmas when i had influenza and i dropped from about 65kg to 60 kg.

After 8 weeks of this diet + a strict gym routine i am up to around 70 kilos with only 4% body fat.

Deja....not good my friend. No two ways around it, 2 meals a day no matter how healthy they are does not cut it. There can be no possible way that in tow meals you receive the nutrients you need to be living a healthy lifestyle. Especially if you are active.

Ok maybe that was a bit extreme, but, in any case you are not optimizing your health.

If I eat any more I gain weight though..Im a small person..couldnt it be that I need less calories?

I usually wake up late so I do not eat breakfast..I just have my tea and then a lunch about a half hour to hour after I wake up. Then Ill usually have another meal in the evening sometime..it would be difficult to eat more and I dont want to gain weight. :\

^^perhaps some cardio and splitting your second meal into two smaller meals, one right after work/school, the last could be one or two hours later. a pain in the ass I know, I don't eat enough either.

I am aiming for 1300 calories a day, but in reality I usually get about 1800. I'm 5'10 and 210lbs. My metabolism sucks, I am always starving but no matter how little I eat I can shead the weight.

I have sort of come to the conclusion - after 30 years on this planet - that you are the weight you are destined to be.

You can change it by desperately manipulating certain factors.... changing your life radically.... if that's what makes you happy and content in your own skin, so be it. It made me happy for quite some while. It's a fucking blast to fit into size 8 jeans!

But now, my happiness comes from elsewhere.. eating a nice plate of spaghetti bolegnaise, enjoying a bottle of red wine, being with friends, having great sex (and by the way my sexuality hasn't changed one bit between sizes 8-12/14... and believe me I get picked up on more now I'm more voluptuous).

I don't know, I think priorities change. There is NO.. I repeat NO excuse, barring medical problems, to be obese... But I think our bodies do want to be a certain weight. Check out your parents for genetical clues. There comes a point where it doesn't matter anymore. At least not to the point of consuming your every thought. That's a waste of life, I believe.

I eat a ridiculous amount of food a day. I have a really bad sweet tooth and I can easily get through 500g (or more!) of lollies a day. i always have a bag open, I can't help it, it's my addiction! I try to eat heathily through the day but at night i snack like crazy. i would hate to see the amount of food I've eaten in a day spread out before me. I'm not hungry, I just LOVE the taste of food! But despit all that i still have a slim figure and I actually find that when i start eating healthily, any slip up with junk food makes me feel bloated and put on weight, but eating the junk all the time my body seems to get used to it and not put on weight.
Hangovers and drugs make me absolutley crave junk food for a week afterward, so seeing its a weekly thing, thats pretty much what i eat.

I have no idea how many calories I eat a day. But I 2 rather large meals a day with snacks inbetween when ever I feel hungery. Im 5'9 and weigh just over 150lbs.
Most of the food I put in my self is generally pretty healthy. I dunno eating good food makes me feel good about my self.
hehe thats not to say I never visit Mcdonalds.

Knumb,

I feel you man I am the same size as you! 5'10 210lbs is not too bad if its not all fat hanging off your belly. Anyways, I have some suggestions that can really help, I mean I can tell you what has worked for me...us ebing the same size and all. Hit me up on a PM if you are interested!

i dont know, but i just came home and ate a bot of fishticks, 2 apples, 2 whole wheat bread rolls, and a few glasses of milk. I dont eat all day, i usually eat first when i get home, arround 2:30.

^I used to always eat BEFORE I smoked weed...that way my stomach was full and I wouldnt get munchies. I rarely smoke anymore but now when I do I dont get the munchies anymore..I sorta trained myself away from it...just dont let yourself eat anything after smoking and after awhile I find the desire goes away. Or just eat healthy food. :)

^i do generally eat healthy food when i have the munchies. i don't think i actually eat way too much when i'm stoned, rather it just feels like it to me.

Weekend eating is much different from weekday eating for me. I work in an office setting so most of my weekdays consist of sitting down while staring at computer screen and answering phones - not much expended energy. Before working here, I was outisde 90%+ of the time and rode my bike everywhere. I ate between 4000 - 5500 calories per day.

Now I eat 3000 - 4000 on the weekends (2 - 3 meals depending on snacking) and probably less than 3000 on weekdays (1 large bruch-meal + breakfast/dinner-snack). I'm 5'10" or so and weigh 150lbs and am 19 years old. When I am not getting taller I never lose or gain more than 2-3lbs. I have a very low amount of body fat 2-5% (not exact as it was done by the pinch method).

I find it pretty hard to determine how much I should eat. I get stomach aches and some nausea when I don't have food in my stomach, but feel like I have much more energy (probably because my body is not working to digest anymore and I have more glucose to burn from the most recent meal). My stomach feels less more comfortable when I eat but I get more tired.

Once when I first started smoking I ate an entire bag of marshmellows.

:( *hangs head in shame*

I was really sick over the whole xmas holidays and I barely ate a thing for a couple of months but now things are back to normal. When I'm not working I eat whenever I am hungry, sometimes when I'm not (depending what's in the fridge lol), and sometimes it's all junk. Doesn't help when your old man works for a confectionary wholesaler and is constantly bringing home new and overordered products for the family. I probably eat 2 proper meals a day (lunch and dinner) and snack a fair bit. I'm trying to get back to eating breaky. When i work i usually don't eat until about 4pm when i get home, then i snack pretty much until dinner and try to have a smaller serve. When i started eating normally I was only exercising one day a week religiously (I did exercise other times but it was just when I felt like it and not consistant). I did put on a bit of weight but I also needed to gain a bit after being sick for so long. Now I'm back to my routine of working out pretty hard 3 times a week and occassionally more if I feel keen. My advice to anyone who wants to watch their weight is sports teams. I play netball every monday for an A grade league so that's basically sprinting around the court for an hour plus i do warm up and cool down laps of an oval. Wednesday i train Under 11's so we do laps, sprints, fitness circuits, tonnes of stuff and then my a grade team trains straight after. Fridays my under 11's play so we do warm up laps and circuits together. They are 3 things i have made a commitment to and i can't skive out of or i'll be letting too many ppl down (and they let me know about it!).
