Science How many shades of color do YOU see in this image?

Hahaha

The 12 Steps of Masturbators Anonymous

1. We admitted that we were powerless over masturbation, that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves (Lonnie Childs) could restore us to sanity.

3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of Lonnie Childs.

4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. We admitted to Lonnie, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6. We were entirely ready to take the STOP Masturbation NOW pledge of self-celibacy.

7. We humbly asked Lonnie to remove our shortcomings, and administer his Golden Shower of Redemption upon us.

8. We made a list of all persons we had masturbated to, and became willing to personally apologize to them all.

9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, even if it meant embarrassing them. We donated 30% of our gross salary to the cause, so that others may recover from masturbation.

10. We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11. We sought through prayer and work at the campus to improve our conscious contact with Lonnie, praying only for knowledge of his will for us and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to masturbators, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

No wait...16? I think I see 16.
I'd be interested in seeing how many guys see vs how many girls see as women are better at seeing colour than men.

The article is really an interesting read.
There's actually only 11 colours, but the comparison of colours creates colours inbetween for our visual senses.

This diagram explains very well what's happening

In all honesty...i don't believe it, I still think this compression or some other artifacts produced by the how the image is represented digitally making actual additional colored pixels. I don't believe it's an illusion.

I didn't believe it other, that's why I did a colour space analysis, and it's 65 colours.
I posted this twice now, but this information keeps sinking into the thread ^^°

No I saw you say that, and it was one reason I didn't believe it.

And it makes sense to me, compression does all sorts of weird shit to the colors.

This kinda image should probably be a bmp or something, I'm not sure.

They could have just written it in html canvas or javascript,
honestly, we're talking about coding here that a 5-year-old can understand, if you teach them.

Instead it's a lousy quality jpg that spews out 3 times more colours than even they're expecting xD Trying to make a point about optical illusion, when it's their own fuck-uppery. I did believe them, until I zoomed in like 700% and suddenly I was like "ooooh"

This is one of my favorite optical illusions.

Square a and b are the exact same shade of gray. Unfortunately I've seen this one so many times that it actually doesn't work very well on me anymore. They really do look very similar to me now. But it was mind blowing when I first saw it.

yeah I was gonna say, it's bound to be a .jpg image. They save imperfectly (which is their purpose, to take up less space. In these days of high-speed Internet I never use them anymore for this reason but back in the day they were invaluable), and result in smatterings of pixels of similar but different colors, especially at the juncture of two colors.

This is one of my favorite optical illusions.

This one always blows my mind. No matter how many times I see it, my brain refuses to accept that those two squares are the same color, it is inconceivable to my brain. The first time I saw it, I put it into an image editor, sure that someone was pulling my leg, but nope, they are actually the same color.
