The topic speaks for itself. I only have 2 micron filters left and would prefer to use only one.

How long would a solution of sterile water and buprenorphine (from temgesic pills) remain safe without something like benzyl alcohol to prevent bacteria growth?

Why not just use a different type of alcohol? Even 50% water-alcohol should be enough to prevent bacterial growth. I've heard it done (with psilocin) with just 10% isopropyl alcohol, and it worked fine for him, but I wouldn't recommend going that low.

Hmm. That's a useful tip. However, I only have like 3-4 days worth so I am mainly wondering would it stay bacteria free that long in say, fridge temperature? I don't have access to any kind of alcohol at the moment.

It depends on how you prepare and handle it. Ideally it could remain sterile (in a sealed container in a cool dark place) for up to a week or so, but any handling or contamination will change that.

I suppose you could always boil it before you do a shot if it's only sterile water + bupe.

The pills are still in the casing, I can just drop them into the syringe without touching them. I guess I'll just see how it goes and trust in the power of low temperature. I could freeze them and wait for them to thaw everytime, hah. Sorry if I sound a little paranoid, I think I have some mild case of germ phobia. :P The things people shoot without ever having any consequences, something like this (sterile everything) shouldn't be a problem. Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Hmm..wipes contain isopropyl alcohol :D
