How long before you lost your "Magic"

Just curious to hear your personal stories...

Used for 3 months, usually a week to 2 weeks between uses. Never used excessive amounts. Last time used 3 okay rolls (it was freezing outside so roll was mediocre). Always pre/post loaded, never had any post roll issues.. (depression, sleep, anxiety, etc.. maintained straight A's). Typically went back to normal the following day.

Anyway after last mediocre roll decided to stop use all together... In case tolerance was finally catching up... did not want to use more than 3 rolls to feel desired effect.

So with that said, how long did it take you to "lose it"... and did you ever get it back after some time off?

Not saying I "lost it"... as the day of last roll it was cold as hell outside and my spirits weren't exactly high to begin with... but I don't want to test it. So taking a break to at least summer.

I don't understand why people take 2-3 or more pills, especially on their first roll. I rolled about 20 times in 18 months, usually on just one pill. There were two times toward the end that I took 2 pills because I wanted to roll harder. I guess I was just starting to build up a tolerance or something. But starting off with 2-3 pills is overkill!

Personal chemistry is a huge factor in my opinion. Some people claim only their first experience was magical, some roll fabulously for 10+ years because they space out their sessions. My biggest advice is allowing recovery- the general recommended time frame is 30 days between uses ( or more of course). If you test it out and push the limit you will certainly regret it.

pills these days are usually pretty weak. So alot of people will agree that 2 or 3 pills gets them around where they want to be. Lets say a pill has 60 mg's of mdma in it. You take one and thats barely enough to really feel the true effects of mdma. take 3 over the course of a night and thats 180 mg's and you will roll pretty hard. So these days its kinda necessary to take 2-3 pills.

alot of pills have been crap for years. Look on pill reports or ecstasy data, every other report is adulterated pills.

There tends to be a lot of these threads on here. I have to admit that it's almost amusing to me now. While my intentions aren't to sound bitchy, I just think this whole "losing the magic" thing is turning into an increasingly annoying subject.

To throw my two cents in about what OP was talking about, I think if you gave yourself at least 1-2 months in between rolls, you'd be enjoying yourself instead of your brain running on empty. Don't worry, after a break I'm sure you'll be more than happy with your next roll.

And to answer the question of the thread, there doesn't even have to be a time frame for when you lose the magic. I've been rolling for 2 years with bare minimum of a month break in between and have had a great roll every time. I have friends who have been rolling for 5 to 10 years who also still have the magic due to regular breaks.

People get too greedy with rolling, use in moderation and you can expect many years of good times to come.

I'm also skeptical that there are two categories, those "with" the magic and those "without" the magic. It's more likely there is a gradual decrease over time in MDMA's effects which can occur for several reasons such as using more often than your body is able to handle, just getting used to the experience so the novelty wears off, or even just because some people have such a strong expectation that they will suddenly lose the magic.

I don't spend energy comparing my current rolls to my earliest rolls, I can't even remember them. So sure it's possible that my current experiences are not the same as the beginning but they are great and possibly even better because I now have a more mature mind than I did the first time I tried it. :)

I lost my magic after 5 years of rolling heavily.

I just took 2 red paul frank monkeys last weekend (15 or so years since the first time on x), and the effects were very mild.

:(

I dunno, I've spaced out my usage and I still feel as if rolling just isn't as great as when I first started... it's kind of like I know what to expect now where the first few times I felt totally blown away and everything was new and interesting. Oh well, it's still fun so I still continue to roll.

20+ years of using - haven't lost the magic yet.

Also if this question was asked to English/European users, then you would hear zero people complaining about losing the magic.

Using MDMA does not automatically mean your going to lose the magic!

I've been using MDMA for almost three years. The magic is doing just fine. In my experience, the biggest issue with keeping the magic is to do MDMA with other people who not only like rolling, but also love rolling with you. That, choosing a comfortable setting and keeping your tolerance low by taking reasonable breaks is all you need to keep the magic. :)

^^^ Indeed.

Been using for years and never lost the magic. Every time I used MDMA and not abused it I've always had a fantastic 'roll' full of love, euphoria and empathy.

^^^^ Been using for 10 years and haven't lost the magic. I've also gone through periods of heavy use, and even still the experience is great, once I take a break. People definitely need to stop throwing this phrase around so frequently... it scares the newbs. There are posts on here from people thinking they've "lost the magic" after three rolls.

Any experience in life changes as you become more familiar with it. Someone once cited Christmas as an example, and I like it. When I was a teen, there was a while where I using LSD on a weekly basis, and I got to the point where I could be very functional on it and go out and accomplish difficult tasks because I got so used to the experience.

Piperazines are such a common adulterant in the states now, and they are designed to simulate the rolling feeling, I'm sure the people that don't test take more bad pills then they know. Since a common pipes effect is a come up that never goes anywhere, I'm sure a lot of people assume they have "lost the magic" when they experience this.
