How good is the pot in your area on average?

I stopped smoking weed about 12 years ago(I know, thats my fault). Most of my friends were pot heads up until then, and so I always had multiple connections to whatever pot was in our area at all times. We were lucky to also know a local guy who grew a LOT of absolutely phenomenal weed from '84-'93, and it usually lasted about 3 months after growing season was over(he grew outdoors). =D;)

Aside from that, all the pot we got was commercial, mostly brown colored, bricked up pot grown far away. Some was green, but it wasnt all that good usually. A lot of it, especially in the 80's was supposedly Colombian, but some was probably Mexican. We did rarely get some good Colombian Gold. :\

Then in '91, I got a new connection from a coworker who sold pot. He had a connection to like 3 types of really blazing, fresh bud. One type he had tasted EXACTLY like hash! This connection lasted a year or so, then he went back to selling common commercial green bud(nothing special). The brown, colombian pot of the 80's was no longer around either.

Hash was always very rare, and it was always brown hash, and I dont know where it came from, but it tasted great, and got you pretty high. It started at <Avoid price discussion, even if it's a blast from the past - Chainer> ....Where would brown hash come from?

So what is the deal in your area now and before?

It all depends on who you know..

I know people who insist on saying that there's no truly good weed around, just average shit that's decent at best.. Then again, for me, it is IMPOSSIBLE to find low-grade herbs (for cooking). I'm only to get medical strains that are normally had in the west coast (cali), while I live in south florida.

It's all about networking my friend

you might wanna watch the prices, they aren't allowed on BL,

obscene amounts of extremely good marijuana is commonplace.

Hash is plentiful but more rare than marijuana. Oils are more rare but easy to make on one's own.

Low quality weed is nearly impossible to find but it is around you just would need to look rather hard to find it.

craigslist literally has hundreds of folks selling their products to other MMJ patients all over the state, even if you knew nobody one would have an easy time of procuring some marijuana in this state.

Generally B+ / A- but you can literally find any range in New England pretty easily, especially on campus. The most in demand and sold is easily high-grade named hydroponic or indoor grown Indica heavy strains, with high-grade hybrids coming in second.

The only way I know of to find Sativa predominate strains is know a grower who is competent. The low yield of most Sativa dominate strains puts a major dent on the availability of my favorite strains!

In the south western states such as Utah, lots of high quality Cannabis finds its way from California, and I am very thankful for this. I don't hear about a lot of homegrown, but i'm beyond sure that its out there. As for hash, it only seems to come around every once in a while, but like Swerlz said, its all about knowing the right people. Oh and Swerlz by the way, props to the meatwad pic! Haha Video-Ouija!

Austin's got a huge pot market, so there's pretty much everything here. It's easiest for me to get low grade imported from Mexico, but that's only because I pretty much only buy shwag and I buy often so my guy knows me well and is quite reliable. Chronic isn't at all hard for me to get either, it's just slightly less reliable and requires slightly more effort to get. But if I was primarily a smoker of chronic then I could get it just as easily as shwag. Hash is usually pretty easy to aquire as well, a bit harder then chronic but not much.

Quality varys, but the schwag is usually pretty good. It's always brick weed, generally darkish (but not very dark) green, with a lot of red hair all over it. It depends on who you get it from though because I've also had schwag here that was so dark brown it looked black unless you looked at it real close, was literally mostly leaf, stem and seeds and was generally terrible. Most of the schwag is pretty good though, and all of it's from Mexico. Or at least that would be my assumption.

In terms of chronic, there's a fair amount of variety. It's pretty common to find stuff imported from California (or so the dealer claims). There's also a lot of locally grown stuff. The chronic here is usually quite good, again, depending on who you know.

The hash varys in quality but is pretty much always a solid brown chunk. I got some hash a few weeks ago that was different, it smelled incredable and was light brownish green. I've never seen hash oil sold here.

The only stuff that's hard for me to find is mids. A lot of people here have never even heard of mids and very very few people sell it. I don't even know anyone who sells mids at a reasonable price, and I only know one person who sells it way overpriced.

On average I'd say the weed here is good, most of the schwag and most of the chronic I've bought here has been above average. There's bad stuff, but it's all a matter of who you know.

in nyc.. there is heady nugget everywhere. however you can also get dirt nugs too. just have to know who to calllll or where to walk

I live in Nor cal so we got some of the best buds. I have friends that just give me weed, so I rarely buy it anymore.

What is Mids?

You said that most people don't know what mids is/are, but you didnt explain what it is....

Generally, the consensus is that mids refers to "Mid Grade Cannabis," normally low in price per gram, not well taken care of, and often times bricked, but of higher quality than schwag - which barely resembles weed at all. I think we'd be assuming even the best mids have a THC concentration of ~7%. In my mind, mids are best suited for cooking or vaporization, while homegrown (KB) and indoors or hydroponic grown cannabis (let's say above 10% and a nice CBD/N ratio) is more commonly smoked.

Some of the best tasting weed with the best high is grown organically rather than hydroponically in my opinion. Anectodally people who've grown and smoked both over the years generally tend to agree with this, even if it's a contentious issue for some people.

The weed in my area really depends on the person who grew it. It's not like there's one main distributor.

Where I live in Australia the weed is rarely like you see in pot or not or is that a 1/4 in ya pocket.... Occasionally I come across some weed that blows my eyes, nose and brain. Most of the time its pretty average commercial shite.

That classic saying..you don't know what you got till its gone.... 10 years ago my bro's mate used to get some A grade stuff. Absolutely amazing, but those connects are long long gone and now its overpriced average stuff.

I'd love to be able to have a choice of bud to buy, but its one size fits all. I must need to social network more. I'm not sure what its like for other people in my city but everyone I talk to seems to get similar quality gear

^^ agreed. It's the same case through most of Australia unfortunatly.

Unless you know someone who grow's or you grow yourself you can pretty much bet you'll never be getting buds that look like the ones in the bud shot threads.

Good thing I grow and have a mate up the road who also does the same. Fuck that asian commercial! :p

IMO soil grown cannabis has a certain element to it that hydroponically grown stuff lacks - I can't quiet put my finger on it, but in my experiences I do prefer personally taken care of, well grown indoors than mostly set & forget hydro. Probably just tasting the love.

would love to grow my own Wise420 but live in a unit. Will have to wait for the day I have a backyard with a high fence.

I'd say we have mid-to-high-level mids in my city. It's amazing compared to where I came from (Oklahoma) but would be considered kind of crummy in places like California or B.C. Living near the West Coast definitely has its advantages though.

If it's your own unit you could easily get a small cupboard grow going. They call em micro-grows :)
