How do you dress to Dance?

Festivals: Good shoes to avoid trampled feet, singlet, terry towling hat to wipe sweat off your face (cant believe anyone hasnt mentioned this, tt hats are a festival must), 6 dollar sunglasses that you can throw on the ground when it gets dark so you dont have to worry about them for the rest of the night.

Also; suncreen is a must

I own my own pair of phatties (hangs head in shame), but I have to say they are unbelievably good to shuffle in. Fuck PHD hoodies, I've got my Bass one, so with both of them on dancing is a must. I love to chuck them on when I'm tripping at home and dance around crazily...when no one else is home of course.

But yeah, phat pants + psychedelic drugs + dancing (melbourne shuffle ftw!!!) = fucken banging time.

If its a big festival/rave i'll usually put some effort in and go in costume. The most recent ones include going in toga or as hunter s. thompson.

Black phatties + a massive smile! I don't get dancing in hoodies, it gets fucking hot as it is!

At EC a mass group of 6 of my mates and I donned individual painted dust masks - wolf teeth, vampire face, ghost ect - and put war paint all over bodies... got very carried away. After tripping out some people we decided to go unpaint since we were tripping each other out more than anyone else..

For me it all comes down to shoes and pant pockets.

Flat shoes are better for dancing and moving between venues (or the compulsary tree climb) but the type of establishment must be taken into account so as not to be bounced by the door bitch/butch. Heels are never an option ;)

Pants are chosen to carry the "Wallet, puffer, smokes, keys!" without losing their contents when I'm scattered on a couch at 3am.

As for thongs......

These days I dress for comfort :D

pants/jeans, lil t-shirt, hat (sometimes) and flat shoes. I don't have a hope in hell shuffling in shoes with any kind of heel so its flat comfy shoes all the way =D

I'm actually in the process of looking to buy my 1st pair of phatties...... woohoo! :)

Black industrial phatties with grey pockets and blue/white piping. That and usually a jacket or hoodie, but only for the mornings. Once I'm in a rave I can't help but cloak everything else thats a burden otherwise I just get way too hot shuffling without anything but a singlet/t-shirt and phats.

Go naked! That's what all the kids are doing these days! (or at least you'd think so from some of the larger events)

I just wear what I always wear - t-shirt and jeans or shorts and volleys. This goes for just about any event, club, rave, festival etc. At doofs I'll always bring my army jacket. Even in summer. I think it's been to every doof I've ever been to. It's definately saved my ass on numerous occasions.

For me it depends on the event/gig...

Outdoor festival usually depends on the weather...if its a long haul i take jeans and a top for cold days/nights and shorts and singlet for hot day time weather.

I only wear close toed shoes so no thongs.

If its a nightclub or event at a venue i try to wear something fashionable or 'in' so right now its my flat souled boots, cotton blue bubble botton dress and a white shirt under it. If its a doof at a venue its sneakers and jeans/camo pants and a singlet.

If i really want to go all out at a nightclub i wear the standard 'barbie/maria' clothes...tight jeans and tops that barely cover anything =D

If im going to a night bushdoof i will generally take my plain dark blue (no fluro) phatties to keep me warm with my black fish net top to wear under my black emily the strange top with pink mess sleeves and bats on the front...sort of a goth look :p

I tend to dress for comfort...so no heels...bad heels...bad.

Pretty much always sneakers. I've worn thongs a couple of times, but after your feet have been stomped on, you learn fast. Went barefoot at earthcore, but too many hours jumping around without shoes kills my ankles.

As for clothes, comfort is priority. If I can get away with wearing denim shorts and a singlet top, that suits me fine. Like maxload said, pocket space is all important... bags and dancing don't mix.

my torn to shreds 3/4 jeans and a plan brown tshirt

:) I dont normally go out other than to bush doofs but if i do I swap with nicer jeans and nice shoes for clubs

Jeans/light cargo pants (weather/area pending), sneakers (if at a rave/festival) or some kid of uber comfortable classier shoe (clubs), and a good t-shirt. If clubbing long-sleeve shirt is always good.

Comfort, comfort, comfort. Then again I feel no need to stand out with fashion statements or costume, so...

If I'm going out with the express purpose of dancing my ass off for several hours, it's usually just a pair of shorts and a t-shirt with my anti-kandy (ie: it looks like normal kandy, but it says stuff like fuck off dog and lying cunt).

I am a short-ass and most of my pants are rolled up rather than taken in, so it means if I dance in them I end up tripping over my pants....very annoying. :X

If I am planning on socialising or gurning in a corner or tripping off my dial and forgetting why I have been standing in the toilet for half an hour though, then it is very important to look good, and so I will wear stuff that may not be so practical.

Goggles are generally also a good thing also.

Is that what anti-candy is? I have a rave friend here who had the wise idea of making and trading some. You'd probably like him.

^ My cousin makes up stuff in colours like shit-brown, just to trade with the munted people who can't really see what's going on ;)
