How do I quit?

i used to blaze alot as well, im talking as much as possible which usually wound up being about a quarter a day. I tried off and on for two years to quit basically only being able to last for 3 days max mostly cause my I was in college at the time and my roommates were all huge stoners so it was pretty difficult to say no. It wasnt until I graduated and moved out of my house that I was able to quit because 1. i moved to a different state where it was difficult for me to score, 2. the girl that i moved in with was constantly on my ass about it, 3. I had to get a career type job. The strange thing i have found is that it wasnt very hard at all to quit once i

just keep going and stay strong.

Im used to smoking all day every day, but at the minute i am on a forced break (cash problems) and i thought my whole world was coming to an end when i ran out of weed at the weekend (i had really forgot what reality felt like)

Now im on my 4th day without weed, it was absolute hell for the first 2 days,i just didnt want to be part of this world without being high, but it gets much easier as the days go on. Im currently taking 15mg of mirtazapine on a night to help with sleep and anxiety, it works wonders.

The key to quitting or cutting down is to reduce your free time, try to keep yourself busy, even if it means taking an hour long shower every few hours, its still better than sitting thinking about smoking weed.

Don't replace alcohol with bud, but if you want to have a beer or two then I'd say you would be fine. If you do start again keep it less frequent. I smoked daily for years and I like it much more as a once in a while thing.

I had all of the above..from sleeplessness to mood swings. I tapered a little, smoked a little bowl before sleeping so I can atleast get a decent amount of sleep. Then quit all together once symptoms were lessened

Drinks lots of water to flush your system, exercise, eat healthy ....theres no real explanation to quitting...just get your mind set and do it, everything will seem boring-almost unavoidable- just keep your self occupied

Replacing weed with alcohol is one of the most commonly made mistakes I've encountered. If you're truly worried about your cognitive abilities, alcohol is a far bigger threat. It is far more toxic to the body and mind than cannabis, and can even cause brain damage/memory loss at high levels over long periods of time.

If you really wanna take a break from pot, you're gonna have to keep yourself occupied with other things. It's when boredom sets in that most people go back to their DOC. Also, hanging out with stoner friends, being around pot, and feeling depressed, lonely, or angry are common triggers.

If you're looking for less potent alternatives, you could try hops (a cannabis relative), catnip, or passionflower tea/smoke, all of which provide a mild sedative effect. Other than that, you've gotta stay busy--work, clean house, go out and have fun, read, and do anything that you don't normally do when you're high. For instance, if your favorite thing to do is get blazed and watch a movie, DON'T sit around watching movies or you'll start to think "how much better this would be if I was high." Go outdoors, exercise, and stay active. And most importantly, stay AWAY from others when they're smoking.
